average TFP-er age... curious

Hello everyone!

Some days... as i sit and read the board... i see posts such as "i still live with my parents"... or "i can't do such and such because of school"... and i realize how OLD i am!

well... not really... i DO feel that age is a matter of how you FEEL, and how you ACT... not the number of years you've walked the planet...

but, i have been wondering... what is the average age of the TFP members?

i am currently 36… *gasp*… and Willow is a whopping 49 years old (step back folks, i have a fire extinguisher for that cake) :D

anyone else?

ninety09 06-01-2003 07:05 AM

I'm 32, but people think I'm 22. I guess all those years in college had some kind of positive impact on my youthfulness. I feel like I'm in the prime of my life right now. Seems like I'm reliving the college years I never had. =>

~springrain 06-01-2003 02:36 PM

i agree with that statement... like i said... i believe that age is a truly a state of mind... and has very little to do with the number of years you've walked the planet...

the year that i was 29... i was 29 going on 49... life was difficult... everything seems larger than life and i was so TIRED all the time... seven years later and feel younger now then i did then...

though i will say that my body has seemed to get less and less forgiving as the years go by *soft laugh*
... in that regard... youth is definately wasted on the young... *soft laugh*... or at least i wasted mine then...

looking forward to seeing more on the poll... thanks all! :)

I'm 29 and Hubby Dei37 just turned 26 last week.

G_Whiz 06-01-2003 03:33 PM

<--- 55 here

There are 5 of us that listed our age at 50+, but for some reason I'm the only one who's posted a comment. I guess I'm supposed to be hiding the fact that I'm older than dirt.

Actually, age doesn't make a lot of difference unless you let it. There are somethings you can't avoid, but brain-lock isn't one of them.

greytone 06-01-2003 03:42 PM

36 and rapidly approaching 37. These results are very much in line with a similar thread on TFP v 3.0.

I agree that age matters sometimes here. A few times I have read a post that mentions an age and suddenly understood other posts by the same member.

juanvaldes 06-01-2003 03:46 PM

Zooksport2 06-01-2003 03:49 PM

213 people have viewed this poll and only 42 have voted.... Just how difficult is it to click a button!

I see the over 50's are popular. I am year of 1961

Spanky Johnson 06-01-2003 04:19 PM

37 here. I do feel that participating in a forum like this with a lot of younger members helps me keep a more youthful outlook on life than a lot of my peers. Or maybe I'm just immature.

Approaching 50 this month. (June) I hope to grow older still.

After spending all day yesterday on my SeaDoo I'm a feeling every year this morning.

Bill O'Rights 06-02-2003 05:23 AM

I'll turn 41 in August. I kinda figured I'd be one of the oldest in here, but I was rather surprised to see so many, so young. Some of the most insightful comments, I can now see, come from some of the youngest among you. Kinda gives me a little hope for the future...*sniff*

A full 2/3's of people here seem to be under 30 !!
As one of the " Old folks " here I've just got one question
is there some sort of pension plan here

27 (almost 28)

I just realized from the results of the poll above that I am no longer in the largest group anymore.

Troublebot 06-02-2003 11:27 AM

32. I'll be 33 in about six weeks.

Working hard to make sure the next 33 are as flexible and pain-free as the first 33. Wish me luck.

denim 06-02-2003 11:47 AM

I be 38 almost all year.

Ogre840 06-02-2003 02:31 PM

wooo 19 here, just like a bunch of you guys. But if your counting birthdays... im 4 and 3/4. But of course I feel older, well ok... Mature, at times. my old high school buddies i relieze are idiots alot, and i get annoyed with them really fast. Tis weird, i allways wondered why people lost contact with hs friends... lol

I'm glad to see a diverse age group, wonder what the "racial breakdown" would be like (90% white geeks? lol j/k) thats allways interesting to me along with ages, and gender (yeah some of your names confuse me... thats when i feel old lol)

focalevo 06-02-2003 02:34 PM

21 years today!!!

Kinda sucks that I'm at work now, and will be til around 10 or so tonight. O.K. though, already hit the distributor before work.

Sensei 06-02-2003 02:38 PM

21; the thing I wonder is whether there really are more <18 year olds here that don't vote or vote than they really are. Of course, voting is anonymous but, hey, they're used to clicking "over 18" like a million times anyways (I know I did).

31----->Alpha phi

I've had people tell me I look 14 but that's usually when I cut my hair to give myself bangs. hmm I guess it makes a difference. Even alpha phi thinks it makes me look young.
I'm starting to feel old.
I usually want to take a nap in the afternoon and I have a hard time staying up late unless I've napped. I think this is because I have to get up at 5 am almost everyday and I don't go to bed until after Alpha phi goes to work. Leaves me pretty exhausted.

~springrain 06-02-2003 05:42 PM

the poll so far is about where i expected it to be...

i'm pleased to see all the diversity as well... makes for a more well rounded point of reference :)

I'm 23 - although i feel about 50 lately :S

eyeseepeedude 06-03-2003 09:23 AM

I remember this thread coming up on the old board, and yet again I am amazed at how many people voted that they were not even 18 yet... (*I am glad that they are honest, but that's about all I'm happy with...*)

22 BTW... :)

32 and going strong -- no regrets. I agree with a few other above who stated they feel like they are in their prime -- my feeling is I'm just appraoching mine -- got a little money in my pocket and the freedom to do whatever it is I want -- life at the moment is good! :)

i saw 31 slip slowly away this year, but i agree age means nothing if you dont let it.... that is until i finish up my indoor soccer games every tues nite and the aches and pains settle in after the adrenaline wears off. then i have to give some credence to those guys i work with who say that it's gonna catch up with me eventually. until then though...

Got you beat there, dude. I'm 19 (like I said earlier in the thread) and I'm already going gray. :( It's been like this as long as I can remember, too. I've only ever met two people who thought it was cool. The rest of them just thought it was weird.

No argument, there, however, that would require those 42 ppl visiting 5 times each to generate those stats. My point was, even if one does not wish to leave a comment, thats cool, but whats wrong with selecting an age group? Its just a bit of fun..... nobody is gonna come knockin at yer door....

Frowning Budah 06-06-2003 01:40 PM

I lie abt my age all the time. Sometimes up sometimes down, depends on how you feel. If you promise not to tell, my real age is 48. I think that is the truth.
