Meditrina 05-12-2005 12:29 PM

Wow! what a place to work. It looks beautiful. Can I ask what he will be doing there?

ShaniFaye 05-12-2005 12:29 PM

I now officially hate your brother....what country is that in?

mmm...kyle 05-12-2005 12:33 PM

Judging by the flag on one of the pics, Ireland? Looks an awesome place to work, what exactly will he be doing there?

maleficent 05-12-2005 12:40 PM

that is so beautiful...

Magpie0001 05-12-2005 12:41 PM

Hes a chef, or chef in the making, he has to do work experience as part of his course & he managed to get in here. Its one of the best hotels in Ireland aparently (ive never stayed there $$$) Its pretty likely that theyll take him on when he gets his qualification.
Im sooooo happy for him.

CASTLE!

Cynthetiq 05-12-2005 12:41 PM

BASTARD.. and I thought staying in Alarcon in La Mancha was cool....

cool for him!!!

liquidlight 05-12-2005 01:14 PM

Oooh. . . sword fights on the walls at dawn. . . can I?! HUH HUH, CAN I?!?!

What's it called? Not that I could afford it, but it's fun to dream.

la petite moi 05-12-2005 01:15 PM

Lucky him...

The best I've ever done was stay in a castle for about a week. It was pretty cool; we slept on mattresses on the floor and it was cold (as there was no heating).

Anyway, AWESOME.

RogueHunter65 05-12-2005 02:20 PM

I want to stay in that castle. It looks so friggen sweet. I can just picture archers on the battlements shooting arrows at some enemy force...thats so cool.

agjnm 05-12-2005 03:18 PM

i challenge you to a duel good sir

Lead543 05-12-2005 04:45 PM

Ahhhh that's awesome. I've officially found the location of my wedding.

Magpie0001 05-12-2005 05:35 PM

Heres a link to the website: http://www.dromoland.ie/

cinnles 05-12-2005 06:32 PM

that's awesome. Tell your brother he's lucky.

Do they make ye olde castle fare for the guests?

Lots of meat, all roasted. Here comes the gout. :)

guthmund 05-12-2005 06:51 PM

That is so cool. :D

I'm afraid not for me, however. The geek in me would probably come out all to easily if I worked in such a place. I'd probably get fired for messing around with all the stuff hanging around and speaking in "Olde English" all the time. :)

Supple Cow 05-12-2005 07:21 PM

Oh man, that's a hot gig. This reminds me of my mom's friend who married this uber-rich guy and lives in a castle with him up in Northern California. My parents and I went to visit her about 5 years ago and took all these silly pictures of ourselves all over the place - my favorite is the one I took standing next to the armor in their entry way. :)

SaltPork 05-12-2005 08:02 PM

See if you can get him to take some pics of the inside...I'm sure we'd all love to see those!!

Bobaphat 05-12-2005 09:12 PM

I am totally jealous. that is amazing. I hope the kitchen is a bit more modern though...

BalloonKnots 05-12-2005 09:49 PM

Wow! Nice place! I am sooooooo jealous! Apparently, there is a golf course next to the castle too!!!! *drool*

This is the cheapest room rate I saw:

Occupancy minimum: 1 Adult - maximum: 2 Adults
Room Price € 417.00 EUR Per Room per Night

Anybody know what that comes out to in USD? I so want to go!

Fremen 05-12-2005 11:29 PM

For some reason I thought "Disneyworld" when I read the title. :hmm:

Cool! Nice job. (if you can get it)
He probably'll spend most of his time in the kitchen and not have time to sightsee much, unfortunately.
