Just wondering how many of you here are farkers or totalfarkers.
Im a totalfarker myself.
And yes, im aware of how random this is.

I actually found this forum via FARK back when it got swarmed after being posted there. :)

Well Calcart, many of us scan the www, and come across fark.com. Farkers might be here, but, we don't attempt to correct spelling, grammer, or do one up attacks.

Great people here, this is not fark.

I'm a farker, and I found this through Fark. Well, probably most of the farkers her found tfp through Fark.

I wouldnt consider myself a farker, I looked at the site the same I do theonion, for a good laugh. but yes I did discover tfp through the fark

Both sites have their good points. But lets just say that is might just be the most well behaved and intelligent forum i've seen in a loooooooong time

I did find this site through fark; although i guess i never considered fark to be a forum. To me fark has always been just a place for good stories, etc. This place is an awesome forum.

Sorry if i stirred something up; i just recognized a couple names and was wondering how many others i would see.

Farker here. Found the TFP from a Fark plug as well.

I've been considering going over to TotalFark, so I can get a jump on some of the photoshop contests over there. But work's been keeping me from the 'puter lately, and I'm really getting worn out on the Fark cliché of abusing clichés.

Still, I always catch up on the headlines before work.

When TFP went down I went back to Fark, Now were up & running again Ill spend alot more time here.
TFP is the best place on the net.

Fark has lost all it's magic.

I used to go to fark all the time - then it led me here and I rarely visit anymore.

My personal evolution to TFP:

Slashdot-->WilWheaton.net-->Fark-->TFP

I found this place through fark last year, lurked, got kicked off, came back and stopped lurking. Now I like this place better than fark.

totalfark is good to read.
Also, I prefer to pay for things I use.
Which reminds me - I send regular contributions to TFP.

I'm a Farker and a TotalFarker. I'm probably going to give up TotalFark soon, though.

I am also proud to call myself a Farker. I would like to get into the TotalFark area soon but my job pay is less than significant to do that.

I read fark, but I refuse to put myself in the category with most of the people who call themselves farkers and post there.

I only ever visit the comments thingy for photoshops and captions (remember those?). I'm not big on flame wars. Which is part of what I love about TFP.

Side question: is it possible to answer this question without unfavorably comparing Fark to TFP? I don't think so. ;)

I lurk and read the articles on Fark, but I've never posted there. Some of the Photoshop threads are really funny.

I only go to Fark if I'm really bored. I don't go there too much.

Yep, I am a TotalFarker (Same Alias). Found TFP through it, for the boobies, although I have moved on to other forums now ;)

Both places have their own good points, TotalFark has the news b4 it usually hits the Telly, and Photoshops are sometimes hilarious. To avoid the childish Flames I usually bow out of a thread b4 it gets too popular on Fark.

I found FTP throguh Fark.. but like a lot of you I don't go there much anymore. The photoshops can be funny sometimes, tho..

Agreed, It's gotten worse. I also tried to mess around with posting and found it to be the least user friendly endeavor ever. I'm not an idiot, but I felt like one after trying to post there. Still check out the ol' fark now and then.

when you say 'totalfarkers' do you mean the fark site you have to pay for? I am happy with the free fark, and fark is my homepage.

What's wrong with correcting someone's spelling or grammar, if it's not done in a condescending manner? It's just as easy to spell or talk correctly as it is incorrectly. It's like walking around with your fly open - it reflects on how the world sees you - wouldn't you appreciate someone pointing that out?

And yes (he says, unnecessarily) - I Fark. Not like I used to, though.

Fark just doesn't do it for me anymore. The novelty of the stories gets old, and the comments section is usually a waste of time unless it's a Photoshop contest. I've seen more boring and ugly discussions about politics and religion there than I care to ever see again.

FARK is tired. Used to love it, but teh cliches are SO old. Domo Kun is still appearing!

Given that anyone can post on forums, why does TFP NOT get destroyed by flame wars and tired cliches. Can I thank the moderators? Thanks. Or is it some strange social phenom?

Farker here. I didn't join total fark because the attitudes and flame wars there are too annoying. The TFP is a lot more civilized and friendly.

I also would have not known about TFP if it hadn't been for Fark. I came for the TB but stayed when I realized what was here.

I do spend far more time here than on fark though.

I found the TFP as well through Fark and I still have my TotalFark membership (I actually didn't know it auto-renewed but I was charged a couple months ago for it). I went there a few times when the TFP was done and realized that I really do not like that site at all anymore. Lets all allow Fark to RIP.

Yeah, I found this place from Halx's boobies links too.... I'm not so big on Fark now, only the photoshops. I checked out Fazed too, which has amusing forums. In short, my evolution was:

fark->fazed->angryworld->TFP!!!!

Besides (and I can't believe how this is) TFP is SFW but fark isn't.

The good thing about Fark is that it always has the latest news.
Use it everyday to see what is going on in the world.
When there is a news flash it is usually much faster than any news site.

Also, the photoshops are hilarious.

I went to Fark a few times and didn't care for it. I think I found TFP through Cloud10 or ORSM, one of those.

Well, I read farker on a daily basis, but the boards there never appealed to me. I found this place WAY back from it being posted on Fark, but I'm definitely much more of "TFPer" (?).

Oh yeah, big farker (different name). I like the immediacy of their steam-driven bbs - no edits.

Yeah, the pshops are funny! And the farkers that do them are much more civil to each other. The comments are usually positive.

I visit Fark pretty regularly. Despite its shortcomings, it is pretty darn good at what it does.

I've looked at Fark every once in a while, but never posted. Come to think of it, I never posted anywhere or looked at message boards till my friend told me about TFP...

Hey, I happen to have domo-kun as my backround right now... then again, that might happen to be because my parents were just visiting, so I had to change my wallpaper. My friends and I still haven't been able to figure out if it looks more like a turd, a meatloaf, or some creation that was made after somebody skinned the brown armchair back home.

I am a farker, and I still visit there for funny links and whatnot, but mostly at school and work because they have filters that are set against the tfp. :(

I started out at Fark. Saw the plug for TFP, and now I'm here.

Nowadays, I only go to Fark to read the articles, and the occasional Photoshop contest. I avoid the comments sections like the plague. I'm sick and tired of reading through all the petty bickering, and constant flamewars that go on in that place. It used to be one of the greatest sites on the Web where people could actually get into calm, mature discussions. Now, you'd be lucky if you could say one thing without having 20 people quoting you, and telling you what a dumbass they think you are.

I know this is just me being selfish, but I hope TFP never becomes as popular as Fark does. I just couldn't stand losing another great stomping ground.

Edit: Now that I think about it more, TFP is <B>a lot</B> better moderated than Fark is. Maybe having more people wouldn't be such a bad thing.

I am a farker...found this through Fark as well. Probably doesn't make me popular, but what the hey. Splendid place this is...everyone is so civilized.

I am a Total Farker. However, i consider the money i give them a donation as I spend less then an hour or two there each week. Drew did a great job with that site.

The flame wars and constant arguing on EVERY single thread gets a bit old, though. TFP is MUCH more civilized. :)

I stopped participating on fark when that kid on a game died, and his family and friends held a memorial for him on a game, and someone posted it on fark, and they(most of the farkers) just totally bashed the kid. I read the stories, as they are good stories, and I hear them at least a day before I do on the news so.

I found tfp through a link in fark forum a year ago. I read fark for entertainment but not for thinking

I read fark for a few months, and was a TotalFarker for 1 month... then I found TFP and realized that I was only into Fark for the porn, so I ended my subscription. I've been back to read the headlines a few times since then.

TFP has a much more inviting community, and not everyone here is an anal-retentive computer-programming jackass.

And the porn is better here.

TotalFarker, here. I found TFP via Fark about a year ago. I enjoy both for different reasons. I read Fark for the articles and TFP for the boobies, but am enjoying lurking here in the forums lately... I, too, get turned off by the constant sniping that takes place in the Fark boards, but there's some funny stuff posted in there as well, so I go in and take what I want and leave the rest...

As seems to be the case. I also discovered teh TFP throgh Fark what seems like ages ago.. More like 9 months.. I still check out fark and the TFP nearly everyday.. (Being and IT Admin has it's advantages)
