Someone got shot just below my window at my apartment this weekend.
Heard the noises and had no idea what was going on.
On my way up at 4am this morning there were security guards hanging out in the lobby, pretty bizarre.

Wow is definitely the word for it.

Sure glad that is not my neighborhood. I live in a really quiet one. We don't have much crime at all. I am very thankful for that.

Minneapolis always seemed like such a safe city to me. Be careful up there.

We had a little shooting around here last week---only two shots were fired---the first to warn the guy who had broken into a big motor home to stop...

The second shot was right in the back of the head as he hit the top of the chain length fence----he hit the ground dead, with the flashlight still in his mouth.

The deceased had just got out of prison and already had a warrant for his arrest...
word was that he was part of the Mexican mafia.....

Police say it was a clean shoot and the shooter was protected by Texas law...
NO CHARGES WERE FILED....

Apparently it was likely a gang thing. 2 gangs shooting at one another, probably 3 guns firing total, 3 guys. The guy that went down was shooting all over as well. They were inside the pizza place fighting but got shooed out (politely, I would guess) and then all that happened. At least I don't have to feel too sorry for the guy, thankfully, he wasn't an innocent bystander.
I think it was about 50 feet away from being the first on campus murder ever, the university police responded first, but we're juuuuuust off the border, technically Minneapolis police serve us.
Still, very rare. Apparently some gangs have been trying to move in, but the cops seem to be on top of it.
