Has anyone seen the new Mc Donald commercials? the ones where normal looking people in normal situations talk to imaginary chicken thieves? Are they trying to target mentally unhinged individuals? Personally they kinda piss me off..making no sense what so ever...and just being randomly annoying. have they tried everything else?

I haven't eaten McDonalds in years. It's all about Burger King.

But yes... I agree. The only other company that advertises more is Nike. And look how dumb their ads are. They've done everything else.

lol i just seriously hope that mc donalds stops those ads..or at least the one with the annoying black lady yelling at imaginary kids...i'm white and i'm racially offended *biigg grin* i'm not againts ads or anything..just ones that make me want to smash my TV into little pieces of glass and whatever else is inside a TV.

I'd like to know who's responsible for these adds. I'm a pacifist, but I could make an exception this once, right Buddha?

I hate it. What's up with the guy protecting his Chicken Selects from...nobody? It just shows how stupid advertising is going to this days. It's quite sad.

I think everyone would be signifcantly better off if McDonalds went out of buisness. I know I don't have enough willpower to stay away, and now that I'm past my adolescent years, I'm startin' to pack on the pounds.

I end up talking to myself on the street... trying to will myself not to go in... I'm weak.

I don't like them because the ads are stupid. But, then again, out of the thousands of commercials you see a day, how many are intelligent and funny. :hmm:

Advertising has always played to the lowest common denominator, but lately, these McDonald's commercials seem particularly bad.

How about the one where the little kid is rapping about his "Soul-Glo" Dad going to McDonald's on a Saturday? For that matter, how about the whole stupid campaign..."I'm lovin' it." Jeezy Creezy, that's fucking stupid.

I guess, in the end, it doesn't matter. They've got what they want. People appear to be talking about the ads. We are, right?

I haven't eaten a single McDonald's ever since those chicken select commercials aired. I don't plan to eat at McDonalds ever again.

McDonald's sucks ass anyway. So it doesn't surprise me that they're trying to put some whacko commercials on tv to try and garner business and revenue. For me it's Burger King or Wendy's

Along the same vein, maybe slightly off-topic, but has anyone seen "Super Size Me"? That will make you never want to eat McDonald's again for sure! haha Definitely makes you think about how bad the food there actually is for you.

Wendys is where its at. the quality in McDonalds food has gotten worste and worste over recent years

I think you'd all stop eating fast food if you paid close attention to the people who prepare it. I won't eat anything unless I can see the process from start to finish.

It's usually the french fries that I end up rejecting because most of the workers will pick up the container from the top with their sweaty palms touching the exposed fries. I've also witnessed workers picking up stray fries from the counter-tops and dropping them into my bag.

At the local Wendys last month, the cashier took my money, handed me my change, then immediately started preparing my burger. No, he wasn't using gloves. After a few choice comments on personal hygiene, I walked out without even asking for a refund.

At a Hungry Howies, I couldn't help but notice the manager who was obviously sick with a bad cough. He had the courtesy to cover his mouth, but I had to walk out when he started preparing my pizza.

The worst I saw was at a Tubby's, where the cashier was licking her fingers every time she reached for a paper wrapper for the subs she was wrapping.

I could go on, but you get the point.

Wendy's burgers are square. That is just wrong.

I go to McDonald to buy coffee and to drop a duece :D Their cans are usually much cleaner than those at rest areas.

Their tag line should go something like this:

McDonald's...where America goes to take a poop! I'm lovin it! :thumbsup:

Their new advertising campaign is nothing short of horrible. Ive made it a point not to go there after their "im lovin it" commercials came about. they are extremely irritating.

Ive been expecting their stock to go down, but no dice the last time I checked

Those commercials are awful. McDonald's ads are always awful. in fact, the McDonald's experience as a whole can pretty much be described as awful.

Yeah I stopped eating mcD's after i tried those nasty little chicken things. They were hard and just all round bad. One of them i think had been over cooked (maybe left in the fryer twice) I don't know but it was a bad experience and I've just never really felt like going back. Oh and Grey i'm with you on the whole people that prepare the food thing, I was at a pizza place with my girlfriend and I noticed none of the people had on hair nets, I really didn't think too much of it until I got back to my girls dorm room and took a bite of hair pizza lol. It was bad, a huge nasty long hair.....trust me i didn't eat pizza for awhile after that.

I love Big Macs. The rest of the foods sucks though.

That new chicken deal they have for some reason makes me sick to my stomach whenever i see it on tv. Love the Wendy's and Steak n' Shake though

McDonalds is trying to sell an image with their 'i'm lovin it' commercials. Association of mcdonalds food with everyday events that you feel good about. mcdonalds = feel good

people nowadays go to McDicks because they ate their happymeals as a kid and find eating there safe and comfortable, not because the food is good for them/tastes awesome.

Never seen that commercial. Havent eaten much mcdonalds since Supersize Me. a little scared to now.

I stopped eating at Mcdonald's long ago because of the "i'm lovin' it" ad campaign.

That one McDonalds commercial I hated, but they replaced it with a similar one.

It's the one where the black couple is on the airplane, and the porno music is playing in the background while they eat there chicken nuggets and everyone else on the plane wants them (the nuggets) so badly. When the attendant comes to take there trash, the black women yells "You better don't!". What the fuck? What does that even mean? Are they trying to kill the respect of the black people?

I cut waaaayyyyy back on my fast food consumption after watching that.

And the scariest part isn't even in the movie. It's in the bonus features where he does that experiment with the french fries.
Apparently, McDonalds french fries don't grow mold.

The chicken select commercials are the most inane ones running on TV right now. A close second is the one from Chevy with the bratty kid in the carseat doing the takeoff checklist with his Dad

"Vein cloggingly delicious"? That's frickin' hilarious! Fast food all-in-all is pretty putrid, but I still enjoy it now and again. Wendy's IS at the top... better nuggets, better burgers and the best value meal in town. Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers are tasty! I just wish they had better fries! :o(

heh. haven't eaten mcdonald's since july... and that was just a measly breakfast sandwich because i was starving. i've sworn off most fast-food burger places just because they're generally unhealthy and the sanitary conditions at most of these places wouldn't pass the most lenient inspections.

lol....thats why I go to In-N-Out because I can actually walk up to the window and watch them make my burger so I can tell whats going on and how clean it is...I may just be lucky though because that burger joint has an A on the window and they are always cleaning when I go in there...shrug...suspicious or not?

Don't eat McDonald's as much now, I used to eat it for lunch everyday, which was crazy, and realized how much money i save if I eat my own lunch.

I only occasionally eat at McDonald's, just because they're everywhere and sometimes you just eat wherever you can find when you're traveling. Mostly I stay away.

I like mcdonalds, the burgers taste good but not as good as other fast food joint burgers but I don't care I eat them anyway the only thing I don't like is what happens about 1/2 an hour later. I'll let your imaginations run wild.

Yea, I have to agree...McDonalds commerials seem to have hit rock bottom over the last couple of years. Their advertising company went over to one of the other fast food chains and they had to get another, and it just isn't up to par.

I think the commercials are annoying too. I think Checkers is better than McDonald's anyway. Their fries are so much better than McDonald's.

I like the chicken select strips. They taste good. But, the advertising sucks ass. I don't go for the commercials, I go because I like it.

Think of the people who go to McDonald's. Many are homeless, as McDonald's is the cheapest place they can get a hot meal. A lot of them have seen enough shit in their lives to go absolutely nuts, so you'll see them sitting there, eating their chicken selects, and talking to themselves: "Don't touch my chicken selects, bitch. If you touch my chicken selects, I'll give you a hug and make you smell like piss!"
Then again...most homeless people don't have TV's. So, maybe it's directed towards potentially homeless people?

Hmm. The only McDonald's commercial that I have given any thought at all was the one that featured about fifteen sets of breasts in close up, ostensibly so that you could read the messages on the tightly fitting t-shirts that covered them all up. McDonald's=Boobies from what I can see. :rolleyes:

I am just upset that McDonald's "upgraded" their chicken nuggets to all white meat. They don't taste half as good now! I go to McDonalds maybe once every couple months and it is usually just to get an egg mcmuffin. Rarely ever get lunch or dinner there.

The Big Buford from Rally's is the best fast food burger out there, IMO. Sadly, I am nowhere near a Rally's.

Other than that, I go with White Castle. Sure, their buns are soggy and filled with grease and your breath afterwards is atrocious, but man oh man are they delicious!

Have you tried them? They are terrible. Everything at McDonnald's tastes like processed shit. The only thing I'll eat there and enjoy is their double quarter pounder with cheese. Isn't that fucked up in and of itself??? Their meat has to be filled with soy filler pumped with MSG or something.

What is the deal with the Tom Cruise, Risky Business dude in their ads? I see them on every damn bus in DC and I can't understand why the pimp of the neighborhodd is so upset that someone imaginary whore wants his chicken. Dude just go choke the chicken. OKay that was horrible and I apologize for my stupid sophmoric behaviour, but I still hate those damn ads!!!

What bothers me is that horseshit like these commercials work. They wouldn't dump obscene amounts of money into an advertising campaign that wasn't going to result in even greater returns. What is all this crap doing to kids heads? They aren't equipped to deal with billions of dollars worth of advertising engineered to forge them into good little monkeys of consumerism, this stuff really bothers me.

I think they were advertising salads or some shit. They were featuring women's torsos, and zoomed in on the "messages" on the t-shirts they were wearing. Can't say as I ever actually read one of the messages... ;)

As for which market it was in - I saw it many, many times on Expressvu, though I don't know whether it was the East or West channel lineup... ;)
