I have been wondering something since I starting TFPing. I am working at a huge accounting firm in the second city as a designer, but I literally come in to work and TFP for 9 hours. I do nothing. I didn't intend for it to be this way, which is one of the reasons I am looking for a new job, but that is beside the point.

So, I am curious, when you are on here, are you at home, at work, how long do you stay on, what time do you usually come on? You know, stuff like that.

Just curious.

I've never had a job where I have access to a computer, so I can't do it from work. I always set up my computer in my bedroom, and so that's where I TFP. As far as time goes, it's basically anytime that I'm free. Although TFP does have a bad habit of keeping me up way too late at night. :p

I'm almost always at work when on TFP. I work as a receptionist, so when I'm not talking on the phone I'm doing pretty much whatever on the computer.

Recently, at work. I also post a bit when I get home because I cant go to some parts of this site at work.

At work dering lunch most every day..as soon as I get my DSL set up at home Ill probley TFP a lot more.

Mostly at work when I'm on breaks. Rarely from home as I'm usually busy when I'm at home and don't feel like using the computer since i'm on it all day at work...

Almost always from home, but ocassionally from college too.

At home. Work is retail, so no computer there.

Always at work right now, but I will be getting cable any day now, as soon as the install kit arrives. Once that happens I can TFP properly at home and see the whole rest of the site that I haven't seen in 8 months.

Outside of the local wifi bookstore/mall.

This could have come out of my mouth. I also am at work right now, and probably spend more time here than working. Just like you, I dont want it this way and I am looking for a new job. My boss thinks it takes me a week to do something that only takes me a couple of hours, and when I ask him what I should do next, he doesnt tell me for a week. I dont get it, too much on his mind I guess.

at home, all the times. I just leave the comp on 24/7 and the never close the tfp window, so I'm "on" all the time.

At home, whenever I'm at the computer. (which is whenever I'm not playing ddr) Can't at work, because work is in the woods.

Why do you ask?

At home, usually after work right after I check my email and then throughout the evening whenever I find myself in front of my computer. And I'm usually half dressed cuz I live in the desert and it's freakin hot here.

I work at a computer store. When things get slow I get on TFP. When things are slow and the boss is not around, me and the other techs order a pizza and have a mini-LAN party in the tech room. But the boss is usually around, and business is usually slow.

I also TFP when I am at home or in the computer lab avoiding my homework.

Since my dual tag-team of bosses sits in the same room as me, one of whom sits right NEXT to me, browsing TFP while at work is pretty much impossible.

Some times I catch that magical moment when nobody's there, and I can safely browse to my heart's content. Otherwise, I have to wait till I get home, and finish all the chores.

Well, I work strange hours.

Part of the joy of running a global team (read as "US centric") with members from San Jose to Sydney to Brussells. Add to the fact that I recently moved to Perth and my days now start at between 2am and 3am every day.

I get up, get online, do my work. But I always check a few common websites first thing in the morning.

1) BBC News
2) Irish Times
3) Sydney Morning Herald
4) TFP

Then, throughout the rest of the day, either from home or the office (when I get there during the afternoon), I check TFP again; this is my "break" from routine.

Finally, when I'm bored at home and all alone, I trawl the darker side of the 'net for contents to my regular Mephisto Links on the Links board.

So, I guess the answer is "anytime, anywhere". :-)

I am in my apartment usually at the desk computer. I get on in the morning and the evening and stick around for about 15 minutes.

Work, don't have a net connection at home . . try not to spend all day here tho . . .

I'm either at home, like during the summer, or in my dorm at UNCG.

at home. whatever time of the day or night.
haven't been able to stay up late into the wee hours of the morning as i used.
so yeah. atm anywhere from 6am til 1-2am. depends.

i'd prefer to say anywhere from 9am to 5am... just doesn't rock with what's going on these days.

At home. Work computers won't let me access this site....wonder why????:crazy:

At home, usally after finishing a couple warcraft games and too braindead to do any real hard thinking. Some TFP to unwind before bed.

Not sure if you were asking rd4evr, me or sailor since it seems we are all in likewise situations. But as for me. My "boss" knows I am the most knowledgeable here, get my shit done, get it done right and that is all that matters. We aren't in a dept. that goes and finds work, it comes to us, so if we don't have work coming in, well, there isn't much we can do. For a while, I actually tried to increase my design knowledge by going to tutorial sites and the like, but after months and months of that, it gets old, and you start to end up seeing the same old tuts everywhere.

I spend a good portion of the day on here, and that would be working hours. I run 3 or 4 different things at once, and can TFP too! Now and then from home, only when my wife isn't on the pc.

Most of the time I'm on here is from work. I have more down times at work that give me the freedom to explore the web than at home.

A little of both, but generally from work. One of the perks of having a great job, with a great little company, is that all but one of us here in the office persues their own interests on the computer, when not busy with work related things. As far as I know I'm the only TFP'er, but to each his own.

I spend my time on here from home, sitting in the basement which is basically where I live.. Bed computers and TV can't really ask for more.. Okay maybe a chef that cooks lowcarb would be a definate bonus..

I have a summer job in a crane company. I work in a warehouse where my job is receiving and delivering crane parts to different places. I have this booth with a computer, and whenever I have nothing to do (a few hours per day), I surf the net and also daily check out this place.

I work from home, so I must.......tfp from there as well. Sometimes during work hours - sometimes not.

So how do you type then?

Im on at work from 630am to 330 pm

when Im at home Im on my couch anywhere from 4-9 during the week

I always have at least 3 boards running at time mine and TFP

I'm at home sitting in my room.

I have a couple. Nothing anything like this though....for the most part its a group of us in the metro atlanta area that hang out and party and try not to get into trouble lol its a safe place for my group of friends to share their "exhibition" pics without going "public" because its a closed private board.

Oh.....Exhibtion pics, all the guys I hang with use videos....like every guy has 10 or more sex videos with there GF's:D

The home made stuff is better though pics or video rock on!

I work as a network administrator for a company. Well, my network runs like a champ, so I really don't have a whole lot else to do during the day. So I look, post and read TFP at work.

Currently, from home. I was able to access one day at work, but it was banned the next day. And I didn't even look at any objectionable items... :(

At home - late at night when the kiddies are in bed.

Normally from home when it's late and I'm recovering from far too many hours of work.

In a few weeks I'll be able to go on here from anywhere I have a cell phone signal. Verizon Cell Phone + Laptop + Mobile Office Kit = Internet Access Anywere.

I'm online at TFP for 8 hours during work and around 30 more minutes when I get home.

Typically i check TFP from my laptop, either on my bed or sitting on a nice comfy couch. Other than that - whenever, wherever!
I'm a slack TFP'er, I quite often dont check the site for days, sometimes even weeks on end and do not post anywhere near as much as i should.
However when i am on I will proabarblly scour the site for 10 to 30 minutes whilist checkin out my more regulars and whatever research, etc that i am working on.

well i come in to work at 7am most mornings...

and first thing i do is turn on the work screen, check my e-mails, then log in to TFP...

TFP runns in the background all day with me checking it ever few minutes...

then i log out at 5pm...

sometimes (if something i'm interested in is running hot with comments) i'll log in from home after work...

but most of the time i don't.

sometimes in the studio, sometimes in bed, sometimes on the couch, and even sometimes on the shitter. aren't wireless networks great??

I TFP at my summer job, at my teaching job, at my inlaws (because they have a fast internet that allows me to peruse all the porn on here) at home on my slow computer sometimes, at my friends on his laptop....

These days I'm on TFP almost 6-8 hours a day.

I believe my TFP title is addict. Appropriately so, I should think.

I am in the attic. Occasionally I'll go onto the deck outside, but I'm usually under the old slate roof.

I check TFP if I get up in the night. I have it with my morning coffee before I go to work and with my afternoon coffee when I get home. I might be able to sneak a peak or two at work, but I don't have internet there. And I am often on for a few hours in the evening/later in the night either browsing or chatting or whatever.

I TFP all over the place--my computer in my bedroom, my friends' computers, the computers in the computer lab, my parents' computer at home...

There's no saying where I could be!

On the days I am at work, TFP and chat are always open, from 8-5. I just can't help myself, it helps to make the work day go faster when you have people to talk with.

On the days I am home, my computer is always on, and I get up and down to do various chores and play with the kids. I feel disconnected if I turn it off.

Most nights I am online in the living room, on my laptop, from roughly 8 - 11, sometimes longer. If it is too hot in the living room, I take my laptop into the bedroom.

Ok..I didn't think you were serious about being in an attic. Just tell me one thing, You do have some kind of air conditioning right?

The main stairwell is like a chimney - which is why the attic isn't heated :thumbsup:

As for "air conditioning", why I have a cute little fan :D

Most of my TFP time is spent when I'm at work. I'm lucky because I work in a very casual office and the bosses know (and don't mind) that we all surf and spend a good portion of our day "playing". As long as the work gets done, they don't mind. I tend to pop in and out all day long when I'm bored.

Home is a different matter. I try to log on each night after my kids are in bed but I'm usually too tired by then so I don't bother.

I like many others TFP at work, it keeps me sane, so it's for the best. Boring jobs are evil.

Home usually. In between watching movie trailers and visiting big-boys.com, I'll be here.

At work when I'm procrastinating or as a reward for a spell of hard work. Also at home after the baby is asleep and I don't have any chores to take care of. Thanks to TFP I'm watching less and less TV. Right now the baby is falling asleep and my wife is dozing on the couch. PARTY!!

Home. Even were parts of the site not NSFW, Internet usage for anything other than official company business would result in me having to look for another job.

Sadly, only at home now.

My new job is at a place where everything is monitored. In fact, I got called in to my boss's office on only my third day of work. After discussing some projects I was working on, he cleared his throat and said, "Um - I've been told by the IT guys that you've been viewing pornographic web sites on your computer. What you do on your own time is your own business, but we're somewhat conservative here, and we won't stand for viewing pornography on company computers. They tell me you had the site open for 23 minutes this morning." My jaw dropped so far it got carpet burns! I had no freakin' idea what he was talking about.

Turns out the offending site in question was Fark.com !! Can you believe that? Fark?!!! :rolleyes: Good thing I wasn't the TB on TFP!!!! At least I found out quickly how Big Brother works there, and my new co-workers got a kick out of it, too.

mornin's for me..........i'm up early,and play around for 15/20 mins,then of to work..........

....if i catch a break (like now) i go for 15 0r 20 as well.......


but the weekends are when i'm in and outta here all day...........

Well, I visit whenever I feel like I need a relaxing break. At work or at home. I'm lucky that I have tons of freedom on the job (management privlages, I guesss) and I find TFP a nice break from selling freakin' diodes, arrestors, relays and wireless antennas.

Places that monitor EEs "too much" really suck the big haji IMO.

I sneak an occasional peak on the TFP from work but it's rare. We have way too many people spending way too much time snooping on productivity including what i-net sites you visit. So... I TFP mainly from the homestead. From my primary client's location tfp is definitely a banned / blocked site. I've not gone anywhere from their network but cnn.com and the like. Their blocking softare throws up a monkey shaking his head saying that "your ip & mac address have been recorded as attempting to access a site that is inappropriate for business use". In other words... don't keep trying this or you'll be fired. In fact you may already be fired but we're too lazy to really determine who you are so this web site blocker page we hope is enough to scrare the shit out of you. :D It works at least in my case.

in between tasks, mostly in the morning.
this summer, i am mostly writing and dealing with logistical stuff, so mornings last longer than they do during the school year.
once in a while from the library computers, if i am interested in how a particular thread is going.

At home. I work from home. I can do anything I want as long as my responsibilities are fulfilled.

Previously in another generation of TFP I posted from home only and though I had access to computers at work I did not post there. Reason - They had any sites with nudity blocked and should you manage to get around that you'd get fired the minute the discovered it. They monitored people too. Not too long after I left there were a number of professors/staff who were 'asked' to leave when it was discovered they had visited some of the taboo kind of sites. It sucks.

I tfp from work about 2-3 hours a day, and then lately at home I don't tfp, but I plan on upping my tfp usage.

well since i have joined less than a week ago i have been on as much as 6 hours a day from my house

i also get around to tfp about an hour a day from work,Ramsey County Adult Detention Center(Jail)

Its my "work"

I work in a retail outlet, so there's no access for me to browse the internet for my leisure so I TFP when I arrive home after work during the evenings, it's pleasant to be able to relax on here.

I am lucky enough to switch positions with the wife for a bit so I am a stay at home dad. I usually pop in whenever I can, the little one keeps me jumping so visits are usually short and very erratic. Have a laptop so its easy to keep it open and pop in and out.

I got on here @ work, and sometimes @ home.

When I get on @ work, I'm usually at a point where I need to focus on something else for a quick moment before I go back to what I'm working on (I'm an engineer).

I'm usually all over the house (Couch, dining room, lanai, the can :p) or at class.
