Paris Panorama

Since it got deleted in the Photography section because it wasn't my own work, I'd like to share this:

<img src="http://www.mijnkopthee.nl/images/1.76mbparisbynight.jpg">

Here's the URL if it gets REXED: http://www.mijnkopthee.nl/images/parijs_des_nachts.html

This is an awesome picture!

*sigh*

The city of lights.

The best part is the guy in the window at the bottom right. Here's this gorgeous cityscape, all those lights, and here's this little slice of life: a guy in his living room, looking out the window.

CinnamonGirl 04-05-2004 09:15 AM

Wow, that's a HUGE picture! Very pretty. I'll get there eventually :)

NoLa 04-05-2004 09:33 AM

How beautiful, I hope to get there eventually too.

Daval 04-05-2004 09:35 AM

Awesome view ... wish I had something like that to look at out the window.
>>Goes back to looking at the side of the apartment building in front of my window

meepa 04-05-2004 12:08 PM

That was cool, thanks for sharing

Chingal0 04-05-2004 12:16 PM

Very cool, and as was said earlier, I wish I could look out to see that instead of my stupid neighbors hah.

Hanxter 04-05-2004 12:19 PM

there's two people canoodling in one of those windows...

water_boy1999 04-05-2004 12:34 PM

What a fantastic picture. It reminds me of home....oh wait, no it doesn't.

Gortexfogg 04-05-2004 01:48 PM

Incredible picture. It almost seems like it'd be impossible to get that great of a view, but some one did. It's just mind boggling to look at...

Derwood 04-05-2004 01:56 PM

anyone know where this could be printed out seamlessly? Could Kinko's do it? How much would it cost?

animosity 04-05-2004 02:12 PM

i feel like im walking on roof tops.. i love this picture... ive been meaning to go to kinkos anyway to print out some stuff i did onto posters. i dont think it will be cheap.

bundy 04-05-2004 07:55 PM

magnificent photo.

if only i had a screen that was 15000 in width so that i could see it all without having to reduce it or scroll across.

anleja 04-05-2004 08:07 PM

I love that huge stained glass window about a third of the way through. The camera picked out the tiniest details of it, you can see glass people in each pane.

sadistikdreams 04-05-2004 08:44 PM

Lovely picture. Now I know what Lestat must've felt.

Whoever put it together made a mistake. The left-most 150pixels or so are the same as the right-most 150 pixels.

Yes, and they also didn't mount the tripod completely perpendicular to the ground, or the building sits on an angle.

:( Left side is about 30 or 40 px higher than the right.

I'll agree with that one 100%

hu-man 04-05-2004 11:48 PM

Wow, beautiful! Very very nicely done - I really have to get a bigger tripod, so I can make pictures like this. All I have now is a 3-inch one, and that won't do me much good! ;)

moonstrucksoul 04-06-2004 08:57 PM

that's sweet, thanks a lot.

ratbastid 04-07-2004 06:57 AM

That was AWESOME. Scrolling left-to-right, wondering when I'm going to see a landmark I recognize.... And then "Hey, is that a flying buttress?" and then BAM I'm looking square at the Notre Dame rose window...

This must have been taken from a tall building right on the quai on the Rive Droit, exactly eye-level with the Cathedral. My favorite part, though, is the view of L'Eglise Saint-Sulpice off to the right of the Cathedral. Just a gorgeous little church--ornate and gothic like Notre Dame, but with a really unique, intimate charm.

The other thing that is striking is all the construction going on in Paris. Just LOOK at all those cranes!
