I don't get it. Marijuana is a cure for boredom? In my experience , marijuana does not cure boredom, it prolongs it.

drawerfix: I don't know how many levels there are, but how do you know that you are on level 5 or 6? What are the different levels? I'm honestly curious. What are the symptoms of the different levels? Level 1: Mild Boredom- characterized by surfing internet news sites, searching for friends names in google, etc.

Eh, bad joke, I guess. It didn't help that I smoked right before I hopped on TFP.

- Play some frisbee golf, if you are seriously on level 5 or 6 of boredom. That's pretty serious.

I believe that there's five levels

Level 1: Characterized by aimlessly channel surfing. Generally, you get involved in something quickly.

Level 2: Aimless web searching. Most often, you end up going through your favorites 4 or 5 times.

Level 3: Going through every porn link that you have, and spending "quiality time" at the good ones. This is usually the highest level of boredom that I reach.

Level 4: Now it gets bad. Start daydreaming. Sleep. Clean. Post on TFP. Do other random things that no sane person would.

Level 5: The highest level of boredom. Count pixles on your computer screen. Watch your screensaver, hoping for something different to magically appear. Eat an eitire bag of potato chips. Finally, if all else fails, go out to car and just drive until you run out of gas. Then push car back home. If still bored...kill self.

Anyone reach level 5?

I agree on these levels, it seems like i have come really close to level 5, but i guess i always sleep instead. A high level 4 is the closest i've come.

i'm almost constantly at #4

and yeah, in my experience, marijuana just creates a cycle of boredom. I'm bored so I'll smoke, then I can't think of anything else to do, so I smoke some more! rinse (throat with cold water) and repeat.

I fluctuate between being bored and being so busy i don't have time to eat. When I am bored, I'm usually around #4, have dipped into #5 occasionally when stuck on duty on campus and I can't go anywhere and everyone is gone for the weekend.

I bounce around from 2-4 often....usually on the weekends if I haven't made plans...me and my group of friends don't tend to be spontaneous. Poorness also leads to boredom...I could have tons of fun if I could spend the money.

Hmm...sounds like you might be an RA? If so, I feel your pain. If not, I can still probably relate to some degree.

I'd say there is a level 6, which is a level 5 when you are too sick/intoxicated to move.

Hail Citizens!

Boredom is a luxury.

You live in a velvet rut with too much extra time that once was used in the day-to-day struggle to survive. Now that the fat of the land provides you with your basic necessities, requiring little or no effort on your part, your pretty skulls have become gilded cages for your torporous brains. I long to break your imaginative shackles and harness the free time that you squander for my own nefarious agenda. Sadly, my dream is impotent. My path is bitter. My hopes are hollow.

But I am not bored,

Awesome quotes. Yea, I always felt bad for the RAs, though most of them were total dicks.

Yep, you guessed it. Having RA seniority is not always a good thing, because it means the boss "asks" me to hang around when she's out of town to make sure "nothing goes wrong". Us RA's often have to make up our own fun.... we haven't resorted to setting off the fire alarm on *accident* yet

I think level 5 is when you stop procrastinating in college. I've only reached it a few times, but when I did, I got papers done almost a day in advance! Level 5 is dangerous to your college career. It can lead to better grades and a higher GPA.

Whoa, if that's the cure for procrastination, I need to start reaching level 5 boredom much more often. This senioritis thing is starting to bite me in the ass.

Boredom is a product of your unused potential. There could be a million things that you could be out doing; surely you can think of at least one.
