Anyone in need of an Aircraft Carrier?
|
I'm pretty sure even if it was decommissioned they wouldn't just sell it to civilians. There's no fuckin way. Just another stupid eBay joke.
|
I'd buy it if I had plenty of money to waste. You could do many things with that, sell it for scrap, make a hotel out of it, etc.

I wonder if the people bidding on it are serious....I highly doubt it though, only bill gates can blow 20 mil on something like that.
|
Oprah could buy it to give her fat ass a place to sit.
|
Funny you mention that.
I just bought one last week. Damn. |
Yeah, I already have mine. I really reccommend them, though. The launching catapult is the very thing for making my garbage someone in the next county's problem. Great place to put a pong table too.
|
It's a pretty good investment considering you can attack weak country and rob them. The investment pays off pretty well.
|
oooh i want one, but where would u park that?!

It's obviously a hoax. Who in the right mind would sell an aircraft carrier for ONLY $20 million? These things cost hundreds of millions in acquisition. |
ya, who is gonna fly to brazil during christmas to look at an aircraft carrier?
|
That would look so cool in the subdivision's pond! I gotta have it.
Hello, Visa? Can I have my credit limit raised? I can, okay, 20 million. Hello? Hello? Anybody there? |
wonder if the thing still runs!

You can actually bid on US Navy ships that are being released from the inactive reserve fleet. There are still a few of the WWII light carriers left in the roster. The stipulation in the bids is that they are to be cut up for scrap, not used to start your own private navy. Most of these ships end up being towed to China, Indonesia, or India to ship breakers. Then the metal is remelted and turned into plate steel that is resold to various manufactuer's.
As was the case in pre WWII, the joke among the troops was they were afrfaid they would be killed by scrapnel made from an old Buick. |
