Southern California Thrift Stores

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good thrift stores that are somewhere near ventura county or LA county. I've heard of Aardvarks or Aaardvarks but have no idea where it is. I dunno of any other really good ones. Or if you know any other good ones, where might they be?

The reason I ask this is that Halloween is coming up. I have a plan of being The Joker and my friend being either Catwoman or Harley Quinn. Sounds fun, but needs lots of strange clothing. eg Purple jacket and purple pants for the joker. Where can I get this kind of stuff?!

Aardvark's Odd Ark, 7579 Melrose. Expensive. Google, 25 seconds.

There is a salvation army store right off the Stearns exit here in Simi, Clark

I don't know if I'd go to a Salvation Army or Goodwill since those places don't, erm, wash the clothing before it's put on the rack.

Whatever, wash the clothes before you wear them. $1 on laundry is better than spending $20 at a vintage clothing store.

If you want to go out far enough, head out to holt avenue in Pomona. It's got a line of thrift stores, all of which will be cheaper than anything you'll find in hollywood. One in particular is Leroy Boys, which is next to a flee market where Indian Hill Blvd. meets Holt Avenue. Only problem is that the colleges around there tend to pick them clean, so get there early.

Thanks guys. And Hal, I went there, some interesting clothing indeed....
Hopefully I got most of what I needed from Aaardvarks. And I found one on Sherman Way. Much closer I presume.

Let me clarify: Some of it is better left on the rack.
