Well, yes and no.

What I mean is, I've been to several beaches in Spain where there were lot's of young people (men and women) and no 60 year olds in speedos. These were not designated "Nude" beaches exactly but there were lot's of people walking around without anything on.

I think the term "nude beach" takes on a whole different meaning in the U.S., it's usually old fat people but in other parts of the world, going topless at the beach is just normal, it's quite nice.

As a side note, right before I moved from New York in 1998, a law (or ordinance, or whatever) was passed that said women could go topless on ANY state beach. Can anyone from New York verify this? Or did it get overturned?

This is assuming that the purpose of a nude beach is to provide lots of young people (mostly female) for other young people (mostly male) to gawk at discreetly, or not so discreetly.

For me a "good" nude beach would be a relatively sheltered place to go hang around and be naked without being hassled by prudes or horndogs. And it should have lots of showers and hoses to get rid of sand in inconvenient places. And lots of umbrellas for us fair-skinned folks who have no interest in catching a tan. The gender or age of the other bathers is largely immaterial to me, since I'm there to relax and not to see and be seen.

The only nude beach i've been to had mainly men. :(

Saw like 3 women the whole time and they kept themselves hidden when nude and clothed when up and walking around.

Seemed to be a hang out for gay men more than anything.

I've never been to an "imbalanced" nude beach. Perhaps a couple of hotties, but mostly lots of average people of both genders comfortable in their own skin. The larger beaches will often have a gay male area, but that's just part of the beach. I've been to:
Little Beach, Maui
Wreck Beach, Vancouver
Haulover, Florida
Aquinnah, Martha's Vineyard
Grand Lido Negril

All good.

Yes its still around. When i go to Coney Island down by the Brighton Beach side, all the Russian women are topless and in thongs. Its a nice place...

Wreck Beach isn't all fatties, fags and old dudes walking around with metal detectors and their balls dragging in the sand... there are quite a few females that you'd actually want to see nekkid.

Haven't been there, but Hanlans Point on Toronto Island is a nude beach.

Unfortunately, from what i hear, it's predominately for the gay boys.

ive been to a few nude beaches in europe and they weren't bad. there were definately more women than men and all the women under 30 were shaved. it was good times

i went to my first nude beach on maui, hawaii. its a secret red sand beach that is spectacular. there were some cute girls there but they left. i was the only one topless afterwards. i think i offended some other girls that got there after me because they did not stay for long...

I went to a nude beach on fire island, new york.

Its a gay area, so I was the only female. It was awesome though, with the wind and the seafoam. ( i was fully clothed)

When I was a teen went to Gay Head on Cape Cod. Not sure about the "gay" connotation of the name but I remember it being a diverse crowd.

The point of a nude beach isn't to provide horny young men with a good view. On the contrary, I think it would be embarassing to get a pokey in a nude beach.

They call it Aquinnah now. I think it's the original Indian name.

I happend across one walking to the far end of a beach. The gals apparently never wore any support. It was like IHOP pancake city.

The French side of St. Maarten is nice. Bikini beach, and Orient beach are the best. Although the Dutch side has Sunset beach by the airport, which is where the famous series of Tammi/Sophie frolicking with 7 other naked hotties in the surf was shot. Notice the crowds in the background acting like that sort of thing happens every day. It probably does...

There's a fair few beaches here down under where a vast majority of the girls bathe topless. Somedays you just get lucky and there's lots of 'white pointers' out.

I've never been to a real 'nude-beach'. I can't say I'm really keen for the idea to be honest. But definitely the topless ones are good (I think mainly because the guys keep their clothes on too ;) )

Well I think I'm just thinking out loud, about how at all the nightclubs, and the regular beaches around here(Long Island, NY), there's no shortage of hot people(male and female), no shortage of exhibitionist-types, but for some reason they don't go to the nude beaches around here. And don't tell me it's because nude beaches are for "naturists", 'cause I don't buy that... not in NY

There are lots of nude beaches in Vancouver actually. Wreck beach is the most well known one, alot of good looking girls do go there. Alot of people in the city like to frequent there.

Of course this is hippy central in BC, you can usually buy any drug you want down on wreck as well.

After hanging out at "Big Beach" on Maui for several days, my friend said, "Let's go to Little Beach." I had no idea it was a nude beach. It was an unexpected suprise; but fun:) Not only were the people beautiful (because I think all shapes and sizes are beautiful), the beach was awesome!

I've been to Wreck beach quite a few times over the years. It's by far the best beach in the Vancouver area.
The beaches in Europe were nice too...lot's of pretty ladies.

I just wait for spring here in Florida. During spring break Front Beach Road and the beach turn into Topless Town. Girls Gone Wild was filming here this year (Panama City). Too bad they got busted here, their trucks were confiscated and some of the film crew got arrested. That just upset the several hundered young women and they all started going topless. The beach police gave up and just let them do it. They also are into the 'give them beads and see some tits' thing here.
