On another note, ever since I was a little kid, I considered racist jokes to be self depricating humor. Its like the teller is making fun of himself for his ignorance. Only now do I realize that was a pretty deep thought for a little kid, growing up in the middle of White Redneck America.

In my opinion, all forms of bigotry are best avoided. Just because a gay man or a black man tells a racist or homophobic joke doesn't make it right.

Don't propagate it, it's entirely possible to be funny without stooping to the level of focusing on things like race or your preference for ass.

At the same time, if someone tells a joke like this, and you feel compelled to laugh, you might as well indulge.

i fucked up today and have felt very tiny. i read a joke i saw as making fun of religion even though i'm a firm Christian.

i posted it. it hurt some people. i didn't think of it in that way. i still feel like shit and i realize how easy it is to not onlly do a bad taste joke but to offend/hurt someone.

to me it is uncool.

Nothing wrong with them at all, get a pair and a sense of humor and suck it up. Too many people are sensitive bitches in this world and complain about the stupidest things. That's not to say that some don't go too far, but they can be funny as hell, so long as you're not a pussy.

I totally agree. Jokes that don't offend anybody are not funny. That's why nobody laughs at that "Why did the chicken cross the road?" crap. True, they don't have to be as blatently offensive as some jokes are, but it's still the nature of a joke to offend.

Well, racist jokes, like any jokes, are meant to be light hearted and funny. If people get offended, it's their problem for being up-tight jerk offs. But sometimes they go to great lenths to make it your problem too.

What I'm saying is, they're all fine and good. But know your audience. If they don't know you, then they may assume you're racist too. So be carefull where you tell them. It doesn't matter if you tell black jokes to blacks, jew jokes to jews, or redneck jokes to rednecks as long as they know you don't mean any offense.

well thats my opinion on it, such stereotypical jokes can be laughed at for the fact that anyone actually taking a stereotype to heart and believing or getting offended by it can be laughed at.
