Share your Last.fm playlist with us.

Cynthetiq figured out how to embed my Last.fm playlist in my blog and we thought it would be a neat idea to get more people to share.

Here's how you do it:

From your Last.fm profile page, go all the way to bottom to Resources.

Hit the link for Widgets.

Hit the button that says Show Me the Code.

Within the first few lines of text you should see a number like this:

6fb0c82741154ba2d1b5c62268fbca66

Code the number like this:

[lasfm=yourlast.fmusername]6fb0c82741154ba2d1b5c62268fbca66[/lastfm]

...don't forget to include the 't' in last.

and you will wind up with something like this:

They refresh automatically. It's kind of cool.

So let's see what you're hearing!!!

MOD NOTE: Please don't post unrelated comments or links to this thread. If you are able to post a player from another site because you don't use Last.fm that is fine, but I'd like to keep the thread as clean and on track as possible. This project is about sharing what you are listening to, not whether one site is better than another.

Here's my attempt. I'm counting on this updating, as I don't have much on there. I tend to forget about it sometimes.

Well, maybe this will remind you to turn your scrobbler on.

Scrobbler? Wuzzat?

EDIT: I couldn't find a definition on last.fm's site, but I did Google it. I think I've got it. I'm just unsure if I need to do anything to turn it on.

Some of the music on my computer can be embarrassing. Please don't pick on me - I just keep it on random.

merleniau,
I promise not to pick on you if you don't pick on me when I'm in the mood for John Denver and The Carpenters.

Yes, that sometimes happens...when I'm feeling especially fragile.

Okay, mm. I'll have to check it out more often then. Maybe I'll check out your stuff and familiarize myself with the site a bit. I think it gave me an upload option, I may put some of my stuff out there.

Jewels, you don't have to upload anything. Your scrobbler should come on anytime you open your music player and the songs you listen to will automatically be 'scrobbled' onto your account.

You can turn it off, though.

Just pm me if you ever have any questions. Or you can send me a message there, since we're friends now.

I wanted it to get more exposure at first than the music forum gets on a daily basis. I thought I would see if I could get a good start in here and then move it later on.

I was a subscriber for the first month. They didn't really offer anything to subscribers that I was that interested in. You have the ability to listen to other people's playlists and radios, etc.

I just like keeping up with what I listen to, researching artists, meeting people, etc. You can do all that for free.

Yeah, I don't think subscribing would add anything for me, either. Although if they actually do the "subscribe and get unlimited listening," THEN I wouldn't mind paying.

One thing that's a little annoying, though, is when I go to listen to a song... and it's a different version. A remake, usually (by the same artist), twenty years later, and the tempo is all different. Not cool.

Otherwise, still loving the site.
