Woman's opinion on under arm hair
 

I'm a guy and like most have under arm hair. Now once there was a GF that asked if I would shave it because she felt like Chuck Norris was attacking her.:) At first I was taken back by the request but then I figured it's only hair and she's the one that see me the most w/out my shirt on.

So my question to the ladies or guys with a woman's opinion is what do you prefer if you have a preference? New GF hinted at she likes a guy with not as much hair and other than than the regular grooming I thought about adding arms to the mix.

I tried to make a poll but it didn't work.

I said no hair. But here's the thing: my husband cringes whenever he sees me shave mine, and can't imagine doing the same. We've reached a happy medium where he keeps them trimmed short, and that's good enough for me. Unattended, unruly pit hair is gross. Man-stink sticks to it, it looks repulsive, and I can't fathom how it could be comfortable.

Add a "I'm a man and just want to see the results" to the poll please.

To avoid threadjacking... I don't shave my armpit hair. I'm not particularly hairy though, so maybe I'd think it's worth considering if I were.

I like underarm hair. I like my guy a little stinky. Underarm hair enables that. I think it's the pheromones. I really love my guy's smell...mmmm. It's so comforting.

I hate under-arm hair and I would shave if I actually had any.

I LOVE under arm hair...and especially love CD's. I call them feathers and love the feel of them between my fingertips, and how soft they are as I twine them round my fingers and love them long to gently pull and tug and tease before during after sexing. I love to lay and watch tv and find some sticking out so that I can stroke and play with them. I am fascinated with this area's hair. Its so soft and feathery...so long and tempting, like its fingers crooking to call to me.

I love under arm hair on women too....

I don't shave, but I do clip it back every little while - I've found that i get less irritation that way.

Shaved and underarm deodorants are uncomfortable, untouched and I find my shirts rub and annoy.

If I had a giant afro around my smoothspot, yeah, I might trim it to assist my partner in her attempt to swallow the throbbing love bludgeon. I get that.

But a man's armpits? Okay... A) it's an armpit and B) it's a man's armpit. As long as the dude is showering and clued into Old Spice, stop being a sissy.

Ladies, if you want to fuck a Ken Doll, move to New Jersey and find a guido. The rest of us happen to have hair on our bodies.

All this hairless crap makes me wanna have my girlfriend start cultivating her crotch fleece. So I can shove my face in it.

My wife hasn't stated an opinion on my body hair. I trim it with a 3 guard, which is enough so that it doesn't stick out when my arms are at my sides, but leaves enough to prevent chafing.

I love body hair. All of it.
I have a hard time understanding why people hate the human body so much - the real human body, not these shaved, injected, tucked and lifted facsimiles that are becoming so prevalent. It's getting out of control.

All I can say is that my fiancee gets turned on something fierce by my smell after I get home from a hard day at work.

They say we descended from apes and Neanderthals, some of us didn't descend quite as far as others. My knuckles still drag a bit and I'm pretty much furry all over.

I'm fairly receptive to whatever grooming my wife prefers; but realistically, hairless isn't going to happen.

Ages ago, when my daughters were in elementary school, they came home with head lice, a nasty shampoo, and a set of directions. My wife read "Shampoo all contiguous hairy areas", looked at me and said "You're fucked".

"I want it long, straight, curly, fuzzy, snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty, oily, greasy, fleecy, shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen, knotted, polka-dotted, twisted, beaded, braided, powdered, flowered and confettied, bangled, tangled, spangled and spaghettied..."

I trim my armpits from time to time, mostly because I live in a very hot and very humid place. I found that if I don't trim it (a little bit) my deodorant ends up in the hair and not on my pits. I have no interest in shaving them bare. None whatsoever. The same for pubes and chest hair. Trim but not remove.

As for women's armpits... I have no issue with women having hair in their pits. It's about presentation. If a woman has hair, I like it trimmed neatly rather than unruly.

I've noticed that the world's population has grown since shaving pubes became more common. It must have led to more sex.:orly:

I prefer a man who doesn't shave his armpits. I don't shave my armpits, and I don't expect him to do it, either.

a trim or shave. depends on the season i guess. as long as it doesnt smell, im cool with that.

having a hairy armpit doesnt let the deodorant onto the skin where it should be.

does anyone have an evolutionary explanation for armpit hair? or is that just a remnant of our primal ancestors?

Captures scent. Biologically compatible people tend to find each other's natural scent attractive to some degree.

Obviously, this scent capturing is a nuisance in modern culture.

Not to say that shaving one's underarm hair is necessarily unhealthy (unlike shaving pubic hair which is unhealthy) I think it's important for people to realize that their bodies are essentially little ecosystems and there is a purpose for each and every element of them. Our bodies are populated with microorganisms, including the surface of our bodies which provide the first level of defense against invading pathogens. Much like we didn't understand the need for an appendix or a thymus or a spleen not so long ago (all of which serve to protect our bodies from pathogens) it's possible that we don't fully realize the implications of disturbing our 'outer environment.'

My husband trims on his own accord and I like that. I wouldn't want him to shave completely, I like the way he smells.

I prefer shaved, but my bf trims and I'm cool with that too. As long as the pits are clean and odor free I have no complaints.

I prefer hair on men. I wish they wouldn't shave/wax/trim anything below the shoulders. And I find facial hair to be sexy if he has gone a day or two without shaving. As long as he stays a couple of inches away from me, that is ;) because those hairs can be sharp.

I'm not asking for a complete shave, but a nice trim, edge-up is the tops. I absolutely hate watching basketball games on TV. Guy goes to the free throw line to shoot and the camera zooms right into his sweat-dripping unruly pits. Yech.

I don't do any manscaping. Then again, I'm not exactly hairy.

Funnily enough my husband has not much hair growing elsewhere than on his head, so he does not have to do anything about it. My brother OTOH doesn't have much on his head, but he's a hairy beast otherwise, so I conclude hairiness on head and rest of the body does not go hand in hand.

Now this is interesting thought, that one should not interfere with the "life" downunder by shaving the nether regions.

I trim my hair there, I don't like it all over the place. Looks gross to me, and I find that it gets irritated when I use deodorant for some reason.

Shaved... never tried it but I think that would be odd. I trim it down, I think it looks better and deodorant doesn't bother my underarms that way. Works for me.
