What traits of others turn you on? NOT physical traits.
- Guys who play piano.
- Guys who know computers. - Women who have a great sense of humor. - Women who are slightly boisterous. Not obnoxious - but definitely not meek and mild. Oh, and they still must retain their femininity. - Men who call me 'baby.' :o Edit - my title needs to be adjusted I think. I mean, 'not physical traits.' meh! |
Security, strength and Authority.
Mostly these are things that if you have one, you have all three. And women who posses them cream my pants instantly ... My female supervisors, for example, wonder why I get along so well with them. |
Intelligence, Honesty, Confidence, Maturity with just a touch of recklessness, and Power.

Someone who knows how to properly fill out the knowledge, skills, abilities section of a federal employment application.
The ability to tie knots and properly burn the ends of 550 cord. It cannot be stressed enough how important this is. |
An adventurous nature. And I don't mean just in the sack. Although, that is a definate added plus.

Handcuffs work if knots don't, I know, not what you were talking about. But I am. |
-Intelligence and enjoyment of learning
-An open but scientific mind -A sense of adventure and willingness to try almost anything new -Being patient instead of rolling her eyes when I say "wait a minute" and grab my camera while out and about -Enjoying life instead of taking it so seriously -Bonus: responds to "I bought a new camera lens" by smiling and striking a pose instead of dropping her jaw at the price. Or at least isn't dismissive of my hobbies. Quote:
Plus, there are knot-tying and bondage guides online, and it's a good idea to have at least one or two rolls of 100' of 550 cord around the house and one in the car anyway, so there's not excuse for metal cuffs. |
Balance.
Intelligence balanced with practicality. Confidence balanced with humility. Honesty balanced with good judgement. Nerdiness balanced with good social skills. Maturity balanced with a touch of playfulness. Spirituality balanced with skepticism. Adulthood Lindy Quote:

a woman who can drive a manual car

non-stupidity.

It hurts me to see a woman who can't drive a manual by 18, the feeling of power and control when you shift a car, the stick in your hand and the sense of acceleration as you work you feet and hands together..... makes me miss that old fiat convertible I had in high school, what a sexy, fun, pain in the fix it again tony ass. Awwwww..... now I want a manual and a little youth back to go with it. :car: Sexy Sexy. Thought of another sexy attribute, though physically visual, it's mentally stunning, as Cake would say "Short Skirt and a Long Jacket" Hot Hot Hot, that little lesbian girl I keep locked up in my pocket comes screaming to the surface when I see a beautiful woman in a short skirt with a med or lab coat on and high heels, make me quiver. |
Musicians...any women that can pound out some Monk on the piano or wail away on a harmonica will melt my socks to my feet. God only knows how I made it through college as a music major when I'm drooling all over myself watching the hot brunette across the room blow out Alabama on a sax.
Others: Self confidence, independence and proper maturity (don't fake it and for god sakes just because you're an adult doesn't mean you can't have fun) A large capacity for alcohol is pretty hot. As a side note being able to tell the difference between Tennessee whiskey and Kentucky bourbon gets my heart pounding. Being able to field dress a freshly killed moose. Intelligence and street smarts, naivety is such a turn off. Laid back and being able to roll with the flow. |
Confidence is all I need. If she views herself as valuable, she becomes very valuable to me.
|
Musicians, definitely, especially guitarists.
People who make me laugh, and aren't afraid to have fun. No stuffed shirts need apply, thanks. mmmm....geeks. There are different sub-cultures of geekdom, it's true, but if I can talk books with you, and you get my Monty Python references, and you think it's awesome that I dress up for Renn Fest...oh, yeah. I'm melting. |
Patience & a sense of humor.
Respectful compatriotism. |
The ability to deliver a sarcastic comment at the right time and with the right amount of subtlety.

First off, intelligence: I need a woman who is at least as smart as I am, if not smarter. My relationships involve an enormous amount of scholarly discussion and witty repartee, and if a girl's not a challenge for me in those areas...no way.
Sense of humor. My girl's gotta have an eye for the quirky, and slightly askew worldview, a love of puns and wordplays and (as mentioned) witty repartee, and an earthy pleasure in dirty jokes and sexual humor. Creativity. Artists, scholars, writers, actors, musicians, dancers, and clergy: these are the girls I like. Type-A hardcores, scientists and lawyers and architects and shit: no thank you-- I'm sure you're awesome, I'm sure you're hot. We wouldn't last a day. Confidence (self- and otherwise). If you're too scared to be you, if you're too scared to take risks, if you're too scared to be seen and heard...you're out of here. Priorities. You say you're hot to get rich no matter what it takes, you don't believe in God, you like fashion and society, and you don't really like reading? Wrong you: send me your mirror-universe self. Libido/Experience. Don't just "let me" fuck you. Be hot to fuck me. Be hot for fucking, period. And know what you're doing. I'm not playing AA ball here: this team is strictly Cooperstown. There are some other things, but those are the top of the list.... |
Not fulfilling female stereotypes.
edit: Oh, testicles, I totally forgot: being okay with immature humor. That's hard to find. |
I like two totally different kinds of women, and I seem to alternate between which type I seek:
I guess I've always responded well to the strong, spunky kind. Not belligerent, but nothing is worse than a weak female. She has to be thoughtful and intelligent, with a compassionate side. Open minded is preferred, but she has to have her priorities lined up. Indepenent. I'm not really into overly feminine females. And then there's the crazy bitch. Daddy issues are nice, but just straight crazy, with a touch of drama, just to keep things interesting. |
I'm married and no longer looking, so these characteristics are what I look for in friends.
- Sense of humor - I like to laugh. I have a decent sense of humor, so I'll try to reciprocate. - Intelligence and curiosity - You don't have to be Einstein, but for the love of God, have something to talk about besides celebrities, church, or sports. - Not materialistic - I don't give a shit about your stuff. - Narcissisism, arrogance, and general assholishness - Don't talk to me, please. - Open-mindedness - I don't care if we agree on things. In fact, I enjoy conversations about opposing points of view, but please be respectful and listen to my opinions. I'll do the same for you. |
Confidence in women in a business setting, particularly young women, is a major turn on.
|
Great taste in music.
A sense of humour and an ability give and take witty repartee. A certain level of geekiness. Sanity (nothing is more of a turn off than dealing with crazy people) |

Humility and wisdom.

Someone I can have intelligent, witty conversation with. That is a huge turn on.
Someone who will dance with me. Maybe even sing hah. Playing a musical instrument. A guy who can easily go from goofing around to showing sincerity and interest. Someone generally creative that likes to try new things. Someone who enjoys the outdoors and outdoor activities but is also just as happy staying home relaxing. Believes in his own abilities and doesn't rely on religion for his strength or peace. Speaks more than one language well. Doesn't smoke or take drugs apart from the odd drink. Someone who can cook really well. A guy who doesn't freak out if I freak out :p Someone with humility but that is also feisty. Someone who doesn't have unrealistic expectations of what life should be like and instead just enjoys life as it develops. |
