Best of 2009

What was your best of 2009?

videogame?
movie?
song?
album?
musician?
restaurant?
book?
gadget?
experience?
sex?

whatever....

What was your best of 2009?

Videogame: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - just incredible!!!! Right up there next to it is World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King's new patch Ice Crown Citadel. They really improved the game to do more of what you like doing like 5 man groups and raids.

Movie: I haven't seen Avatar yet, but what I suspect is that it is the best of 2009.

TV Show: Dollhouse, it really got dark and just incredible. Shame they didn't allow for this to flesh out earlier in the first season.

Music: Kate Perry, I just find myself toe tapping when I hear her music on the radio.

Gadget: I don't know if this is really a gadget, but Verizon FIOS has just been incredible. I'm getting stupid upload and download speeds.... just incredible to upload a 1Gb file in under 10 minutes.

videogame? Don't play.

movie? "In Bruges"

song? "DOA (Death of Auto-Tune)"

album? Jay-Z Blueprint 3

musician? Jay-Z

restaurant? Bones

book? I don't read enough.

gadget? I'm sorry for saying this... Blackberry.

experience? I didn't do much.

sex? All of it. :D

Videogame: I didn't really game much in 2009. Plants vs. Zombies wins by default.

Restaurant: XOCO. Not only because it's very good, but also because it's the only interesting restaurant I remember going to in 2009 :p

Movie: Moon (Honorable Mention: The Hurt Locker)

TV Show: Dexter (Honorable Mention: the last season of Battlestar Galactica)

Song:

videogame: The Sims 2, because I only really discovered the extent to which I can mod it this year.
movie... That's a hard one, didn't see many at the cinema. Probably an old favourite like Amelie.
song: Cohen's Masterpiece from the Bioshock soundtrack by Garry Schyman.
album: Who Killed Amanda Palmer.
musician: Probably my ex, because he dragged me into public playing like no one has before.
restaurant: Wahaca in Convent Garden. Silly, but their Beef Salpicon is to die for.
book: Oooh, don't know. Possibly E2 or The Glass Book of the Dream Eaters
gadget: lolwut?

Going to pick up pizza from the kebab house next door now :D

movie: It's Complicated. I laughed the entire movie. It was hilarious on so many levels for me - and just what I needed.
song: Empire State of Mind was one of the top, but not sure I'd say it was the best, but definitely up there.

restaurant: Buckhead Diner - always a favorite.

book: I actually read quite a few books this year, but none stand out as the best of...

experience: Christmas this year was a nice change.

Because I dont see that many movies, and its recent in my mind cos I saw it Boxing Day-David Tennant's Hamlet. I thought he really captured the "edge of madness" thing

song?

Has to be Killing in the Name Of -RATM. I know its just mirror branding and all, but I just have this image of Simon Cowell turning on the radio at 6 PM on the Sunday to see if he's number 1, and the look on his face as those first cords crash like petrol bombs in the middle distance...

I know its a fantasy but still...

To give a song that actually came out this year - Brick Boring Brick-Paramore

album?

Only Revolutions - Biffy Clyro

musician?

Taylor Swift!!!

restaurant?

Um, I ate a quite nice joint in Birmingham a couple months ago?

book?

I have no choice but to pick a book I READ in 2009.

I was Dora Suarez - Derek Raymond

A brutal punch in the guts of a book.

gadget?

I aint much of a gadget man.

experience?

no comment on that

sex?

Thanks for reminding me to find a download of this! Seeing that production live in Stratford-upon-Avon would certainly qualify as a favorite experience of 2008, but that year has already passed :p

Unfortunately, iPlayer is restricted to the UK only. Thankfully there are sites like TheBox.bz and UKNova :)
