strange.
I can't emulate it because I'm not on a mac and my wife will kill me if I jump on hers. "It's for editing only!" but yes, the base URL gets you there. |

FYI : If I Google TFP it no longer shows up in the queue (It used to be about 3 down maybe?). However, if I Google Tilted Forum Project it shows up on top.
Interesting. |

Hambone, are you using webkit nightlies or something else strange? |
N/M, was a browser issue.

I was just thinking about that. I always google TFP to connect (so damn lazy), yesterday it didn't show until the second page. Today it's back at #3.

possible bug
This might be a bug:
I have a test thread here illustrating the problem: http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/testing...mage-test.html The photo at this link: Photo will not display in an image tag. Shown here: begin photo: http://tlrii.typepad.com/.shared/ima.../07/07/gdp.gif end photo: |

OO!, but I did lie. I only get it when typing "tfproject.org/tfp" if I type "www.tfproject.org/tfp" it does the right thing. |
I think I can edit other people's comments in my blog.
|

Heh... fnord...
|
how about now? I made some permission adjustments.
|
Looks good to me!
|
Looks like titles of private journal entries may be visible, although the entry is still hidden.
|
journals are broken broken broken. no ability to create a new entry or new comments.

Yeah, I'm really bummed about this. I messed around with the blog thing, meh. I liked the journals a lot better. All change isn't bad, but all change isn't good either, IMHO. |

The badges that people received for being super cool and winning votes don't show what they mean anymore on mouse over. I'm using FF3 on a MacBook running Leopard and confirmed in both fromBasics Dark (my default) and vBulletin 3.

It's just my work laptop anyway. no tfp at work i guess. |
You know, I'm probably a big baby about this. Having read comments about the problems with journals, I really like them. I posted some crap to the blog and it just doesn't feel right. I felt invested in the journal. I frankly could not care less if anybody read them, but as an English major, it's the closest thing I've had to continued viability of what I think.
Having said that, it's your forum. Drop them if it's too much annoyance, and I'll get used to it. But there are certain journals I read as often as possible. It seems so much easier to get to them when it's been a while. It took me so freakin' long to realize how to post a comment only to realize the system booted me out after a few minutes. I don't like the blogs. I love the journals. I'm just sayin'. |
I don't disagree. I like the journals too. Alas, there may be no choice in the matter as far as the format is concerned. I'm hoping to test migrating the information over in the coming days, but there's no guarantee that they'll come over 100% intact.

depending on how the login/out system is managed by the vbulletin software, it's possible this may be causing your problem. |
Nevermind!

Hi,
I'm trying to post a comment on my own blog post (http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/blogs/k...8-walking.html) but when I look at it I can see neither the "Post a comment" link nor the "Post a comment" box (where one can type in a comment). I see those on other people's blog posts. I'm using the Insignia skin but the problem is still there when I switch to vbulletin3. |
you were able to post a comment before right? I've seen one in abaya's blog. you're saying just your own blog right? cleared cache already?
|
Yes, I was able to post comments earlier, and I still see the comment box on other people's blogs so I assume I can post comments on their blogs. Just not on mine.
I cleared that cache, logged out and in - no change. |
did you disable commenting on your blog?
lemme look for myself -----Added 24/7/2008 at 06 : 40 : 09----- yes, it's disabled on your end, i can't post comments to you either -----Added 24/7/2008 at 06 : 41 : 09----- http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/blog_us...do=editoptions first check box... allow comments. |
The comments are not disabled. Oh and I can see your comment (and Halx's) but I still can't comment on my own blog.
|
Regarding journal migration:
If we do this without the ability to make individual blog entries private, will we suddenly find a bunch of once-private journal entries open to the public (and Google)? |
re: journals suggestions from the community at large (other admins) say start over.
|
Meaning admins at other sites say that the move isn't feasible and we should start over?
I just downloaded mine to a text file. The comments are missing, which I knew would happen. |
All embedded videos just went and disappeared. All you see are URLs in plain text.

need a little more info than that. I'm looking at alot of videos that are just fine. |
Shit, the comments didn't come with?
Booooooooo. :( |

I've been having a lot of rexed images and it never happened previously.
|
please state what style you are using and which images are rexed.
if you can give me the path of the image that will be helpful also |
I'm using Desert Sand. I'm also not very computer literate and don't understand what a path of the image is.
I can give you one example though...I was posting in my blog and these smileys weren't rexed - the rest were: :)     :p ;) :D :o :( |
any others?
|
I guess I should have posted the ones that WEREN'T rexed, huh?
|
no worries.
I figured out what needs to be done. I just can't do it. Have to wait for the big guy to either do it himself or adjust the issue I'm having. |
Should I continue posting rexed items, or will whatever needs to be done fix the entire issue?
|
if they are different then the smilies it would be appreciated.
|
Let me know if I've fixed the issue, Medusa.
|
When I post URL links to sites, the new system assumes I want to show the link as the title of the link.... and it messes up.

Im using Blacksmart and anytime I'm using a text field I find it very hard to see the blinking cursor. Its looks as if its been made a gray thats very similar to the background gray. Not sure if this is able to be changed, its just very annoying sometimes :(.

The smiley issue has been fixed, Hal.
|
I mentioned this a few days ago and it's still a problem.
If you guys haven't had time to work on it I understand and I'll gladly wait until you can get to it. I'm sure you've got bigger fish to fry... When I open TFP the style is always vBulletin 3. I change it to another style ( usually Bluestar). When I close TFP and come back it is always on vBulletin 3 again. Is there any way to make it open on my chosen style? My browser is FF 3.0.1 . I cleared my cache but it didn't help. Thanks! |
strange
your profile shows that you have selected bluestar as your preference. you need to clear your cookies I believe. |

Are you trying to log in using the forum's mainpage? I can't log in there either. However, I can log in when I click the tilted chat link above General Discussion, even thought they both appear to be using that Mibbit chat. |
