You are given the power to see the solution to an unsolved historical mystery. However, you can only choose one mystery.

What mystery would you uncover?

Me? I'd want to know if Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone and if not, who were the other shooters.

I would want to know unequivocably if Jesus was real and what was the basis for the obviously exagerated stories regarding his life.

We don't know for a fact if the stories were exaggerated. I don't think it's obvious.

Are rule clarifications ok? If so, does the mystery have to relate to the human historical period or can we find out what happened to the dinosaurs or how life started or something of that nature?

Another vote for Oak Island.

What's sad about that story is that whatever was buried or constructed there, it's likely been ruined or destroyed by years of ham fisted recovery efforts.

I'd say that we could uncover any mystery that's out there with this power, but yeah, only one.

Another mystery I thought of today is:

What is the mystery behind the Masons?

Where I grew up, there is a huge mansion on a hill. You can only see it in the winter when the leaves are off the tree. It's a Masonic Temple. It is gated now, but used to have a secret entrance. What the hell do they do up there?

I would like, very much, to see the moment that abiogenesis takes place. That moment that inorganic matter becomes organic matter. I'd want irrefutable proof that it occurred, whether here on Earth or elsewhere. I know it happened, and I think I know how, but to know for sure would be a hell of a treat.

Since people have been good enough to mention Kennedy, Roswell, Area 51, and Atlantis, I'm going to have to go with: how did Rasputin really die? Did he drown after surviving being poisoned, shot, and stabbed? Or did he survive the drowning also, and die at an altogether different place and time?
