second squad, second platoon, 547th Combat Engineer Battalion, 130th Brigade. Hated every minute of it. After I left, I look back and respected every minute of it. Good times, sad, but, good times. Good freinds, the likes you will never know until the shit hits the fan. That is when you know a good friend, team player.

Good to see this thread back again.

OK, Navy, but not long enough to count for anything.

In light of our forces fighting and dying daily, I retract my attempt at humor. Army vs Marines seems not so funny now that there is a shooting war going on. My respect is offered to all active duty/reserve troops who are giving the utmost and getting very little in return.

No sarcasm, just something from my heart.

reconmike 04-20-2003 04:47 PM

Never mind, that was then, now is now. An old man won't regale the board with old stuff unless he feels the need to brag. Different war, different times.

Say a prayer for the warriors now. Warriors are always revered after the fact, yet, during the battle they are often chastised as cruel, mean, unforgiving. That is the way of war.

This is a new time, new war, new cause. Support our comrades in service to their country, our country!

A salute from me to the Peetster.

I swore off saluting but maybe just this once.

Heck, one for the rest of you too. I get a little partial about the Navy sometimes. Sorry.

It means reply to an older thread to push it up into the spotlight some.

Uncle Phil, your efforts in recognizing the sacrifices of those that served are admirable. Thanks for keeping this thread alive.
