That's one scary article. Fortunately, it states that this only happens about 100 times out of some 50 million surgeries every year.

I think she has legitimate grounds for a malpractice suit.

Wow. We depend on doctors to be absolutely perfect every single time, time after time. Not humanly possible though. Kind of like a time bomb ticking isn't it?
|
It would have been funnier if it happened before surgery, and she burned off the tumor she was going to have surgically removed.

they put it that way because the word million sounds so great. reducing it is: 1 out of every 500,000 Which doesn;t sound good. |
This is sad to me. Poor girl. Definitely need to work on awareness of the risk in the opearting room..

Man, that would suck. :( Hopefully the plastic surgery will go alright so she won't be permanently scarred.

Wow, last thing I wanted to read, going in for surgery a week from now.

"I remember waking up and yelling, `I'm burning; I'm on fire,'" said the 40-year-old grocery store clerk from Sylacauga. "My face just ignited."
wow, sylacauga is where i spent most of my childhood, and i've still got family there. strange things always seem to happen there, when noone would expect it. there was a hatecrime death there not too long ago that was big news...i should call gramma. |
that would be the worst way to wake up ever. I've set myself on fire by accident before and let me say, it fucking sucks.
