Let's be honest here...
http://dating.personals.yahoo.com/si...s-wave-goodbye
The above link is to an article that outlines, for women, the 10 characteristics that will make men not want them on a first date. For reference, these qualities are so: 1. Lies / Bait and Switch 2. Insecurity 3. Interviewing 4. Flakeyness 5. High-maintenance 6. Excessive talking 7. Rebounding 8. Teasing Bitch 9. Stuck-up 10. Jumping to marriage conclusions This made me laugh. Yes, it is totally true that any women without any of these qualities would totally make an awesome date. However, if you take any woman and you strip all of these things away from her, what do you have anyways? "Let's be honest here, I don't care about your bank account, your job or if you live with your mom. I'm here, right now, and I don't expect anything more than this. In fact, I'm tired of talking already because it's just wasting time. I'm free and I want you to fuck me right now. I want you to fuck me and spank me and tell me I'm a slut. Then I want you to come in my face and walk out the door." God, what a date! |

I've had at least one date like that... it was interesting.

I'm being honest here... I have never experienced such an occurrence as the one detailed above, but I'd be damned if I lie that I don't want that happening to me at least once.

I would think anything that smacks of looking for 'marriage material', which is at least half that list and probably a few other things not covered, would be the things that make anyone run the other way....whatever happened to just 'going out' for the enjoyment of it and if something comes of it, great and if not, there's always next weekend? I find this whole idea of 'hunting' quite disturbing. |
you know, I honestly don't judge people that fast. I'm usually pretty deadset on just making sure the person is relatively intelligent and not a total ditz(which you can usually tell within the 1st 20 minutes), on top of being able to 50/50 conversations. Nothing like spilling a nice little story about some interesting facet of your life to have it fall flat on its face with silence afterward, or talking to someone who answers open ended questions with such fear that they think there may be a right of wrong answer. Just... freaking chill out.
Even then, they can get a 2nd date if the follow up phone calls don't suck. |
Well as long as we're being honest and discussing annoying superficiality on a date...
Any guy who is childish enough to still desire and expect that kind of a date deserves a girl with all of those qualities. |
Maybe we don't expect that kind of behaviour, warrrreagl, but for some people, it's fun to toy with the idea...

it seems the bottom line is that all of those problems listed are signs of insecurity that the girl has with herself.
Everyone has insecurities, it makes us human; but when that insecurity becomes so prevalent throughout the conversation and date, it is indicative that she has not matured enough to master the insecurity. And it is confident and successful people who confront their insecurities and deal with them who are the most attractive. edit: i wrote 'insecurity../that the girl has with herself' because the linked article dealt with girl stereotypes. Everything I wrote is equally applicable to both genders however. |

I couldn't agree more. Shauk makes a good point too, who the fuck is that judgmental. Though I'm a kind of guy who likes to just see where things go. But at the same time I'll give a situation a gentle nudge in the direction I want it to go hehe. I just find when you meet someone for the first time that you really should go in with great expectations, you'll only end up being dissapointed because no one is every going to live up to your idea of the dream partner. Just gotta roll with the punches and decided if the shit you like outweighs the shit you don't like. Well that's my little way of looking at it. |
I'd like to note that the paragraph in quotes that I wrote out has a direct relation to the sequence and events of the list of 10 qualities above it. I don't think many people realized this and reacted to it as if it were serious.

Hell, man, & I thought you were being honest.

next suggestion :D |
Hell, I think this is a list a lot of women (and men) need to print really really big and slap on their wall and say "Today I will not be ________" becuase we all are guilty of these things once in awhile, but god if they are a habit we are really in trouble.
|
Y'know, I've seen all of these things (and more) with MEN... on first dates, second dates, and after months of being in a relationship. Pretty much every man I've known or been friends has at least one of these qualities, if not a handful/all of them. Except for maybe the "teasing bitch" one... since I've never met a man who was interested in cock-teasing (er, clit-teasing??).
Anyway, thank god I married a man who had none of the above. :D |
