That's Why They Call Them Adult "Toys"
Brownstoner: That's Why They Call Them Adult "Toys"

I'd never take my toddlers to a sex shop. They do enough to prevent me from getting laid already.
I read an article awhile back (on Slate maybe?) about the tensions stemming from the Park Slope area and its reputation for uber-parents with over-privilged children. Judging from the comments responding to this article, it sounds like a very real phenomenon. |
I guess that it depends on the store policy, and how management decides to enforce it.
I occasionally drop in at a couple of local shops. At Eros 1207 I've never seen kids in there, much less running around freely, but I have at Bizarre Bizzar (kind of weird to see kids checking out sex toys & drug paraphernalia). |
If is, once again, the responsibility of a parent to control what their child does and has access to. It is not the responsibility of a store to become the parents. If you're outraged by children in this store, don't let your child enter.

most shops I have been to enforce an "18 or older" policy.

Back when this picture originally was making the rounds, I read that it is the child of the store owner.
