Recent Documents/Windows 2000

I just did a search on how to remove your Recent Documents but they were concerning XP. Does anyone know how to remove your Recent Documents from Windows 2000? My sister is here for the holidays and I would rather her not see everything I look at on my computer. Is there a fix/tweak? If so, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is a folder named recent documents under documents and settings/username/. Just delete the shortcuts there.

download that - it should have an option in there for deleting your recent documents on shutdown/startup

Im not 100% sure, but I think it's almost the same as xp. Right click on your taskbar-->properties. There should be an option to clear history.

Go to winguides.com. Here's the tip to disable it in the registry:

http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/545/

Quote:
Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value called 'NoRecentDocsHistory' set the value to equal '1' to enable the restriction.

Exit your registry, you may need to restart for the changes to take effect.

Registry Settings
User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
Value Name: NoRecentDocsHistory
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0 = disable restriction, 1 = enable restriction)

AdAware SE. Check the negligible objects after a full scan, I believe it lets you remove all your MRU lists.

If you just want to clear that recent documents list, you can either do what was mentioned above through right click on the taskbar, or you should be able to find the actual folder of shortcuts in your Documents and Settings folder. Clearing through the taskbar properties works just fine though.

If you want to go deeper and clear out all traces, then by all means look into one of these other apps.
