Snoring

Anyone got a workable solution for snoring? I have tried a number of "home" remedies. eg tennis ball in pjamas. Nose plasters etc but nothing seems to help.
Having run out of ideas myself I wonder if anyone else can help.
Thanx

Sleep with another snorer?

Honestly mate...I have no idea. My ex also snored, and I am currently single, so it's not an issue for me at the moment. Good luck!

My parents have been married for 45+ years, and my father has snored for almost all of those 45 years. A few years ago, he had a heart attack, and the doctor suggested raising the head of the bed a few inches.

The first night they went to bed, my mother said she woke up in the middle of the night, certain that my father had passed away because for the first time in 45 years he wasn't snoring. (My dad has a Fred Flintstone like snore)

So.... try raising the head of the bed a few inches.

If you are the snorer, have you been checked by a doctor, sleep apnea can be a pretty serious medical condition.

Sleep with a tolerant person. I snore pretty loud and I was afraid it was going to be a problem with my current gf. She is very cool about it. It doesn't bother her. If it gets too loud, she'll just move me or kiss my cheek and I stop. She rocks.

I find that sleeping on my side or on my stomach helps me not to snore.

I should go to a doctor though. Like Mal said, sleep apnea can be bad and is somewhat common.

My snoring went away after losing nearly 50 lbs. If there's extra weight, the fat is everywhere in the body, even in the neck.

Good job pook!! That's something to be proud of.

Losing weight is a great way to stop snoring.

After the loving and the sex go back into different rooms. peace for both and everyone's happy. I know that i snore more after drinking alcohol but less if i drink a class of water before i got to sleep. (note drink water after brishing teeth) Apart from that i never have been able to cure the problem totally. I hope that someone comes up with a full proof method. Imagine the number of lost sleeping hours that could be saved if non of use snore.

I snore too though less than I used to. Losing weight definately helps. I too lost 50 pounds and it GREATLY decreased my snoring. Now I use the nose strips and a spray that you spray on the the back of your throat before you go to sleep. My wife says I still snore a bit but not as often and not as loud. Sleeping on your back will exacerbate the problem as well. Sleeping on your side is supposed to be the best for it.

Thanks for your thoughts. I shall try raising the head of the bed so an extra thanks for that one Maleficent. It is about the only suggestion i havn't tried. Will let you know how it goes. I have been checked for sleep apnea so it isnt life threatening but it is sure a problem.

Weight is definetely an issue. but for those suffering from sleep apnea, from which snoring is a major issue, using a CPAP machine works great.
