				Apple Laptops?

I have to get an Apple Laptop for school this fall... can anyone tell me about them? What I should look for when I get it, what I want... all I know is that I was a "combo drive" I think it's called that, not just a CD Rom drive but one that can burn disks and whatnot.

	Thanks- |

The powerbook is an Apple. Go with the 17" if you can afford it. Those things are almost too beautiful to touch. Great design. Great functionality. I say that as a person who is not a Mac user.

17" sucks really much, it's so big and the chassis is not rigid enough so it bends. Go for the 12".

Also I hear lot of about the keyboard in the 17" being crappy (although it's the same in the 12" model yes? Which doesn't get bad grades among my friends).

I've got a 15" PowerBook and love it. You should decide on the size you need. The 17" is really big - probably too big.

The iBooks are prolly OK since they're running G4 processors, however they have fewer hardware features. I'd spend the extra $ and go for a PowerBook. Make sure you secure the thing. They're beautiful and expensive - an easy target for thieves.

YAY!, someone else that's getting a Mac for school

Go with the 12" Powerbook... it's so hot. I sold one the other day at work and I had to install some software for her and I just didn't want to let her have it. I fell in love with it in five minutes ![]()

if i were you i'd go with a 12" powerbook. they're fast, sleek, sexy and they come with superdrives now.

i like the idea of the 17" powerbook, but like Sty said, they're a little weak for their weight... so for me it would be a desktop replacement (like brandon said). idon't think it would be practical for college.
