I'm about to play Baldur's Gate I for the first time in about 4 years again and i'm wondering if anybody knows of a patch or something that updates the AD&D core rules that it uses. I think it uses the 2nd edition rules and I would love to play it with the 3rd edition rules.

Does anybody know if a patch like this exists?

Nope, not officially. BG2 sorta had 3rd edition, but not really.

Yeah. I remember that. I know that they have something called "BG1tutu" that supposedly lets you use the BGII engine but is it that big of a deal and does it let you use the 3rd edition rules like BGII "sorta" had?

The mods that let you play BG1 in the BG2 engine, to my knowledge, have the same gameplay mechanics as BG2. All the spells, skills and character kits etc.

Oh, and Throne of Bhaal is just too awesome. The End.

LOVED Throne of Bhaal!!!!! This series seriously rocked. Too bad it doesn't appear that they're going to make another one. SUCKS!

I'm pretty sure I read on IGN somewhere that it has been confirmed by Atari that they WILL be making a sequel. Hopefully it's not another neverwinter nights though, otherwise people are going to be disappointed. NWN was a good game, but it was just too short and linear for most people's taste. If it's at least as good as BG2... I'm sold. If it's bettter.... *drools*

Actually....the first NWN was long as hell and was AWESOME!!!! The expansions weren't that big but they weren't supposed to be. I'll check out the link now.
