Shoulder surgery

Last Thursday, I had my second shoulder surgery in 8 months.

Back in August I blew out the left one boogie boarding at the wedge in Newport. It was nasty .... full tear of the rotator cuff, bone chips off the top of the humerus, 4 tears of the labrum. Took them 3.5 hours to string it back together. The good news is it feels great! I worked really hard in PT and have back almost full motion and strength.

The bad news is that it felt so good that I was released to ski on it and fell running gates in the Sierras a couple of months ago (hey ..... anything worth doing is worth overdoing, right?). So, this time, to protect the left, I take out the RIGHT. The injury is not nearly as bad, but as hard as I tried to rehab it, it wasn't responding. Another 2 hours later & I'm back in the sling. At least this time I know what to expect. My wife thinks that at age 44 I should be more careful .... my new goal is to get behind the boat by the end of the summer.

Any one else go through rotator cuff repairs? How did it turn out?
