Well, over the summer my main job is most likely going to be
working at my dad's new inn, and I'm looking for some games to
make me want to work there more hours, and two, to keep me
from losing my mind.

Basically, I'm looking for any really good addicting games that are
either Role Playing Games, or Turn Based (or Realtime) Strategy. (for PC or PS2)
I've never really been into FPS shooters and play Day of Defeat
and Counter-Strike like a mad-man already.

Oh, or if you play a really good MUD (Multi-User Dungeon)
post one up here too, love those things, will probably
end up coding on it.

Final Fantasy Tactics?

Brilliant, and fits in the pocket!

Might as well get the Playstation version of Tactics, cause you can play it on your PS2. Look into the other Final Fantasy games as well. IV and VII were my favourites; X is popular and admittedly has good eye candy. You can get the more recent ones for PC or PS(2). If you like that genre, I'd also check out Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger.

Do you like sports games?

RTS-

Starcraft; It's rather cheap 20 bucks for both the original and expansion, has a huge following online, and is a great game in single player.

pick up an old console emulator and a couple adventure or rpg's...thats sure to burn some time.

I really liked Age of Wonders. I think it was highly underrated. There are 3 or 4 updates that have been put out.

I loved Master of Magic and this seems to be updates to that game. Great way to waste some time

yeah some of the old rpg's are really hard.

Secret of Mana...for instance is a good one.

Star wars Knights Of the Old repulbic is well worth a go. I also like Dungeon Siege. I've tried Morrorwind and did not really like it that much.

No one mentioned Disciples 2 for some great Turned Based fun. It's hella badass, seeing you can take one of four sides: Human Empire, Dwarven Clans, Undead Empire, and Burning Legion. The game has 10 missions for each race and the time for each mission is a good 2 to 3 hours (or more), so there is a lot of play time in this game.
