Lived in Salem awhile as a kid. Remember heading up to Portland one time to see the zoo. Great state. ALOT of trees. The Cascade mountains where a very nice sight. Wouldnt mind going back some day just to see all the sights.

i've only been in portland once, for just 2 nights, but that was long enough for me to decide it is a very nice & very friendly city.
i'd go back in a heartbeat.
how many bridges cross that river? alot!

I've heard Portland is really well kept for a big city. No graphitti on the bridges, etc. True?

It is one of the great secrets of the Northwest, "it doesn't always rain !". When it's nice it's great.

Yes, all in all Portland is a very clean city. No graffitti on the Bridges ('though it appears sometimes <em>under</em> them.

I have a long range project going to take pictures of all the bridges from Oregon City to the Coast along the Willamette and Columbia and south along the coast.

There are some lighthouse pics of mine from along Hwy 101 somewhere here in Tilted Photography. There are more pics of the coast in my Oregon Coast Gallery. It really only scratches the surface, but it's a start.

I live in Hillsboro, like 20 minutes from Portland. I love Portland, very nice, safe and clean (except for that river- dirty as hell)
