What kind of turtles? Mud turtles and snappers stay under for a long time and burrow in the mud...Painters love to sun themselves on Rocks & Logs and surface much more quickly...All turtles love dead fish...We use to catch painters by net or by swimming underneath them and just grabbing them from the back.

I am talking about the terapans red ears, river cooters, chicken, and maps are all in the ponds I need to remove. I know what you mean about swimming under them, I just moved from Ohio to La. I breed painteds for 12 years. I just need to figure out how to catch most of them out of a few ponds before they get filled in with dirt by the local farmers.
