Acoustic guitar players - you must watch this

This is Michael Hedges playing "Aerial Boundaries" live on some TV show. The thing to keep in mind here, beyond the innovative technique, etc (he first wrote this in the early 80s, I believe) is that this is just him playing. No backing track. No other musicians. He is making all of those sounds come out of his guitar all by himself and all at once

(Edit - oops on the typo in the title, and who knew this would turn into an automatic YouTube link? I been gone too long!)

he played this on his harp guitar too. Was always cool to see. He died years ago in a car accident. Huge loss to music.

That's a dude? I would swear it was a woman. Great musician nevertheless.

He played it on the harp? I would think the extra bits would get in the way. What did he use the harp strings for?

Nope. Harp-guitar:

bizarre and very expensive instrument but the bass notes are unreal. Sounds cool as hell.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I know what a harp guitar is (seen Hedges play it a few times). I just don't see how it works in this song. Does he do the big bass notes on the harp strings instead of on the neck like he normally does? If not, I would think the "harp" attachment would get in the way
