    Whoa slow down there with the hot takes, we can't handle that kind of controversy here.

    We're down to a single kitty. Layla went to cat heaven a couple of years ago and Monkey went this past fall. I miss them both a lot. We adopted a kitten a few summers back. We won't have another. My heart hurts too much. Layla was my stalwart companion for nearly two decades, since before I met Magpie, and I still grieve the loss.

    Thanks. It's the eight year old I really worry for. In addition to the two cats my mom's dog died. I wasn't super attached to the pooch though he was a good dog, but he was the only dog the kid's ever actually bonded with, she has a fear of every other one. So that hurt her.

    And Magpie's dad has terminal cancer so we've been preparing her for that too. It's a lot of death for an autistic little girl who already has a hard time processing her emotions in productive ways without all that crap.

    I have no idea where to put this,
    so here it is.

    Apparently it's a talking doll. My question:
    Is the handgun missing (other images confirm the handgun is missing ) because it was misplaced, or was it considered politically incorrect?

    EDIT: Adding the additional image scrambled my post. I'm leaving it as is.

    On a serious discussion note, I do believe in later years George & Co. decided to tone down the violence in later Indy films. In Last Crusade, he does carry his revolver and fires it, but doesn't actually hit anyone with it. (He does shoot a P-38 and kills three Nazis with one bullet, but the scene is played for laughs.)

    In Crystal Skull he still carries the revolver, and although he pulls it exactly once he doesn't fire it. It gets confiscated later by Russians about halfway through the movie.

    I'm sure Disney elected to carry on this tradition once they acquired the rights to the Indiana Jones films.

    In Dial of Destiny, his sidearm is conspicuously absent during his time in 1945 Germany. He doesn't have a sidearm when the film jumps to 1969 and leads him to Europe again. I would imagine it would be harder to bring a gun aboard a plane during that time period than it would have been 25 years earlier.

    Side note: he does briefly capture a German pistol and use it in a firefight near the end of the film, but this has less to do with killin' bad guys and more about showing shots of his hands, where we can see he's still wearing his wedding band despite his spouse filing for divorce weeks ago.

    I did a quick (superficial) search of Indiana Jones action figures, the action figures (dolls :p) I checked showed him with a revolver, in some cases holding it. What I didn't see was him wearing the holster, a right handed holster, on his left side, cross-body style, like the images I posted.

    @MeltedMetalGlob ;)
