The designers from our creative agency of record have demonstrated no discernible knowledge of paragraph, character, or object styles in InDesign and have, in my estimation, rarely if ever used the Align objects tool.

Which is to say that their designed materials, while pleasing to the eye on the surface, are haphazardly constructed, sloppy, and needlessly complicated to work with when I’m called upon to update—or fix—their bullshit.

Fucking amateurs need to learn their tools.

    And I’m self-taught, for fuck’s sake.

The landlords are replacing the siding, windows and doors on my apartment.
They took down the vertical blinds and piled them up in my living room.
They've been there almost 4 weeks and I had to tack a sheet over my living room and bedroom window.
The landlords are giving me $100 off my rent but they raised it $300 so that isn't much of a deal.
It has also got incredibly hot in my apartment.
Even though there is snow on the ground, my apartment is over 80F and I have the heat turned off.
I don't want to think about what it will be like in the summer.
To add insult to injury we have a volcano that is going to blow any day and coat the whole town in ash.

Nope but Spurr blows a shitload of ash. When it goes all plane traffic will be stopped, everybody will be wear masks even the dogs, you will have to change the air filter on your car every week or so until we get enough rain to tamp it down.

I suppose this could have gone in the Food Thread section, but it's more of a complaint.

I don't ask for much, but it seems that whenever I find a drink I enjoy, that particular beverage gets discontinued.

Employee at random drink company: Hey boss, that new item we debuted six months ago is flying off the shelves!
Drink company CEO: Really? Well, it had a good run. Time to call it quits.
Employee at random drink company: Huh?
Drink Company CEO: I heard some guy named MeltedMetalGlob loves it. Fuck that prick.

This is likely the last bottle in existence, so I am going to savor it.

I was thinking about this yesterday.

Kroger sells food products under their name, & better quality ones under their Private Selection label. Everytime we find a PS product we really like it gets dropped. Their Triple Oregon Berry (our favorite), & Lemon Curd, pie filling was delicious, we used them as jam because they were much lower sugar. They had two salsa blends that we loved; I'd compare them favorably to Newman's Own.

So of course they're now long gone.

But the disappointing/mediocre Private Selection ice cream flavors are still being stocked.

Back in the innocent pre-camera and POS tracking computer days, my grandfather explained to his impressionable grandchildren that the curved shoplifting mirrors in grocery stores were so the store could see what he liked to buy and discontinue it.

I once watched about 15 minutes of The Masked Singer.

That'll last me a couple of decades.

I'm sure many people here read some of the juvenile (now Young Adult) ethics/morals development short stories that were very popular (in the '70s for me).

One I recall reading was about a girl in her early teens (of course) who had a huge fight with her sister over nothing really important. She rejected her sister's apologies, ignored her parents' attempts to reconcile them, declared how much she hated her sister, & said she never wanted to see her sister again.

    Yeah, you got it,
    the angry girl went blind.

I hope my bride has a trick up her sleeve, because I just did our taxes and we owe $11,000!

    (Fuck!)

If I used all our money in our joint account, my life savings AND my personal checking account we STILL wouldn't be able to cover it!

If I was filing separately, I'd be getting a miniscule refund (something barely into the triple digits) but since I'm still stuck with the ol' ball & chain and filing jointly, I'm in this mess.

Note: No need to worry on my part. I'm used to having to pay money (but it's usually $4,000, still huge but manageable) but this is unbelievable. Still, my wife will usually find some deductions somewhere and knock off a grand. Worst case scenario, she'll just bother her parents for an advance on her inheritance.

Get thee to a tax accountant. It could end up saving you a lot of money.
At the very least, by paying the right estimated taxes and avoiding underpayment penalties.
