Valentine Spoiling

It's that day again - when everything is covered in pink, red, hearts, and people declare their undying love.

The most important question: Are you getting some today?
    Do you celebrate this holiday?
    Do you have any plans?
    What did you give/get today?
Do you have any particularly memorable Valentine's Day experiences to share?

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today we woke up early and had some fun in the bedroom. After we were finished I wished him a happy valentine's day. He got a big grin on his face and said: looks like we started it off right.
At lunchtime I checked my e-mail, there is a notification from my bank about what is quite possibly the best Valentine's day gift ever: my husband funneled his bonus check into our retirement accounts. Yep. I feel spoiled. What about you?

    Are you getting some today?
Sadly, no. My husband and I are in different countries right now.
    Do you celebrate this holiday?
Yes, it's a cute and nice thing. I know a lot of people consider it pointless because we should be showing our love every day of the year, but I never saw why that excludes the possibility of exchanging gifts/cards/sexual favours on a particular day for the heck of it. I don't need an excuse to do nice things but I'll still take one if it's there.
    Do you have any plans?
    No.
    What did you give/get today?
Just small things. I bought my husband a set of books, and he bought me some thigh high socks I have been admiring.
Do you have any particularly memorable Valentine's Day experiences to share?
Nothing that's particularly worth sharing but I do have fond memories of getting Valentine cards from my dad every year. I miss him a lot.

Valentine's Day used to be a bitter day for me as my ex never acknowledged it. Now it is all new to me. My BF sent me beautiful pink and white roses yesterday so I can enjoy them all week. I bought him some DVD's I think he may like. I won't be getting any today, because it is a weekday, we don't live together and the kids are with me. However, this weekend we will have our alone time. What I realized today is that because he makes sure I know every day that he loves me, I don't need to get anything from him. The roses were a nice bonus.

  4. Are you getting some today? Probably not, but I've been surprised before.

Do you celebrate this holiday? Sure. I'm wearing some pink pants and heart earrings. It's delightfully tacky!

Do you have any plans? Horror movies and wine. Going to teach the roommates about the tradition CinnamonGirl and I started YEARS ago! I'm not really bitter, it's just more fun. Even when I had a SO, this was what I chose to do.

What did you give/get today? I gave each of my roommates a bottle of Rogue Chocolate Stout.

Do you have any particularly memorable Valentine's Day experiences to share? Nothing that particularly stands out. I remembered my dad always got me a card and candy. He knew I liked Mon Cheri, so I tended to get that. I was truly a Daddy's Girl.

Only Milk Chocolate Candy that I actually like. FYI

    Are you getting some today?

    Probably.

    Do you celebrate this holiday?

When we think about it. My husband isn't really into it, and that's okay. Today's a bit weird--I had to get up early to take an exam in another town. We typically buy each other cards--if we remember! This year we reminded each other a week in advance.

    Do you have any plans?

    Not really.

    What did you give/get today?

I have a card to give my husband.

Do you have any particularly memorable Valentine's Day experiences to share?

The Valentine's Day that sticks out in my head is one from childhood--my dad surprised me with a wooden bear cutout that his high school's wood shop made for a fundraiser. It says "Bear with me" on a painted collar around the bear's neck, and the bear is holding a little heart that says "I love you." I can see it from where I am sitting right now.

Out of the country at the moment, so i will not be geting any...

I do celebrate Valentines Day, i htink the novelty of it can be cliche', but if your clever, (and i like to think i am) it can be a good set-up for an uncharacteristically thoughtful act... also encourages us married folks to set-aside any frustrations that may be happening, and kinda reaffirm the point of it all...

I do not have plans, unless one of my co-workers is secretly planning a surprise seduction... wait!... no...

sent the misses two new sets of PJ's... i dont like for people to buy me things, im hard to get right, and would rather just be encouraged to endulge myself... (read: selfish & picky) one must know his flaws...

my most memorable valentines day experience is a bitter one... when i was in the 10th grade i had this gf for about 4 months leading into february... she broke up with me the day before becasue she didnt know what to get me, and felt like that menat she didnt really like me... i had already spent most of my measly high school earnings on her gift, and had informed her weeks earlier that i didnt want anything nice, just a card, and her attention for the day (see above)... evidently she thought i was gonna stiff her too... LOL i still dont like that bitch... but happy valentines to her anyway...

    Are you getting some today?

Already did. :) Went to bed after midnight, had some sexytimes before going to sleep.

    Do you celebrate this holiday?

Sort of? I haven't ever done much for it in the past and didn't expect to this year, but he got me an early gift (french press) so all bets were off. I got him a shirt he'd been eyeing for a little while.
    Do you have any plans?

He teaches an 8pm fitness class, so probably not. I was hoping to watch a movie, but since he also teaches a 6am fitness class.. ehhhh.
Do you have any particularly memorable Valentine's Day experiences to share?

This is the most exciting one I've had in a long time. I think my college bf got me flowers and took me to dinner. Otherwise, I usually haven't been dating anyone on Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day has been cancelled for the moment. In about a month's time, when the chemo drugs are through her system, we will be celebrating her birthday, valentine's day, new year's eve and more.

I am still planning how to do this but it may involve a weekend in Bali.

    Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all.
Time to revive another thread from the dead.

    Are you getting some today?
Not likely. I don’t even know how long it’s been since gf (roommate?) and I have had sex, and neither of us seems to care anymore. She’s professed to never having been a particularly affectionate person, which has taken its toll on me over time, being all about physical touch. For me, I’ve reached the point of neither feeling attracted nor attractive to her, so there’s just nothing there, really. What the hell are we even doing together, anyway?

    Do you celebrate this holiday?
No, and I never really have. I think my ex wife and I may have exchanged chocolates at one time or another, but I could be making that up.

The one person I was interested in making grand romantic gestures to never really seemed to receive them very well, or the timing wasn’t right.

    Do you have any plans?
I would like to get more than a little drunk.

    What did you give/get today?
Nothing more than several nudges and a gentle shove in the dead of night to get her to stop snoring in bed.

Do you have any particularly memorable Valentine's Day experiences to share?
None that I can think of.

    God, that was depressing.

    But this makes me smile.

fflowley Don't just do something, stand there!

    We traded cards and chocolates.
And it's going to be a very long day for both of us today, worse for her, so we had the sexy fun time celebration a little early and she wore that little red piece that I drool over....:)

My SCB (Spicy Cuddle Buddy) does not do Valentines day, in no uncertain terms.
A couple of seriously fucked up relationships has soured her on the whole deal.
She will go along with a nice lunch on Sunday.
Edit: Forgot to say what I was making, Shrimp scampi, fettuccini alfredo, and chocolate dipped strawberries.

Yes, but I can definitely relate.

    Are you getting some today?
LOL, nothing for almost 12 years now! On the other hand, my bride may have gotten laid last night. She told me she was going to walk the neighbor's dogs, and somehow that took her six hours, which sounds sus to me.

    Do you celebrate this holiday?
See answer above and draw your own conclusions.

    Do you have any plans?
I hear my evergrowing porn collection calling my name. I used to not be like this, but there you go.

    What did you give/get today?
I did try to give a fuck. I got rejected.

Do you have any particularly memorable Valentine's Day experiences to share?
In high school I gave a card to a girl I was crushing on. She took it, looked at it, shoved it between some of her books and gave a shrug of supreme indifference.

This is an old one, but it's just so classic now!
