Actually that sounds pretty good, I'd try it.

Though my wife doesn't necessarily avoid meat in her diet at all, she often does take advantage of veggie-based substitutes at times, and likes them. She'd definitely try something like that.

I would love to share recipes with you. I'm a vegetarian that's always looking for new recipes to try.

Even my children don't like most of my wacky food.

Food-related confession: I can’t remember the last time I cooked something at home. DoorDash has become an all too familiar and dangerous friend, and I need to be cut off.

I’ve been an on/off again subscriber to Blue Apron going on over a decade (wherever does the time go?), though more often lately I’m skipping deliveries if I have a busy week ahead or there’s travel involved. When I forget to skip in time, meal boxes will come but I won’t cook the food and it’ll go to waste. Fuck.

I was gifted a coupon for a free box of ready-to-eat meals from Factor. Assuming I like it, I need to calculate out whether subscribing to them would be more economical than continuing to dump money into Door Dash, and whether I could—or would want to—potentially combine Factor and Blue Apron and still come out ahead. I hate math.

I like cooking, but I’m also lazy. Keeping the Blue Apron subscription going would give me an outlet for preparing meals if and when I wanted, combined with the ease of Factor’s more nutritious low-effort options.

It seems to make no difference to Kelly, as in she never complains that I don’t cook. Sometimes I think I’d be more inclined to cook for both of us if she expressed any interest/desire/excitement over what I prepare, but that just isn’t there. Ever.

Meanwhile she’ll eat whatever, including McDonald’s delivered on a regular basis. We’ve both been eating like shit for months. And it shows.

    It needs to stop.

This seems a valuable conversation to have with the other half.

After almost 25 years in the field of food cooking for myself is not something I do.
I enjoy cooking for other people and I'm lucky that two of my best friends have decided to break through my wall of antisocial introvertdom and avail upon my hospitality, so I cook twice a week.
Otherwise I'd be eating meals that consist largely of tortillas and chocolate peanut butter every night.

I've often wondered how you handle cooking, being a former chef and being single.
