1. We've had very few donations over the year. I'm going to be short soon as some personal things are keeping me from putting up the money. If you have something small to contribute it's greatly appreciated. Please put your screen name as well so that I can give you credit. Click here: Donations

The last few days have been spectacular here.
We went from weeks of sweltering heat and humidity to October-ish weather in one day.
We have had highs in the 50's and 60's for the last few days. It's delightful.

Generally speaking September and October are the two best weather months here.

We are on day six, maybe seven, of 100+.

Per the local meteorologists(??) we're beginning our annual cycle of dropping tempatures. Hopefully this year it'll be noticeable much sooner.

It finally feels like autumn hit. My tomato plants are unhappy, but the strawberries are arriving by the handful.

We had a hard freeze two weeks ago, with consecutive nights in the 20s.
That was the end of our growing season.
Fine fall weather has continued since. Maybe the nicest September and October in the 20+ years we have been here.
The leaves are all down now and it's starting to be stick season.

Our weather has been pretty schizophrenic; rain, sun, fog, freezes. If it's in the NWS Weather Glossary, we've probably had it in the last 30 days. I was recently thinking about Noah's Ark and the whole "rained for 40 days and 40 nights" thing, when it occurred to me; that sounds like a dry winter in western Oregon!

No measurable rain in over a month.

High yesterday a record 92F. Two record days in a row, I think.

25F here now but that's a bit deceptive......it's been very warm for the last month and there's no sign of any real cold to come in the next few weeks.

We've had rain, mostly scattered but very heavy in some areas, since Thu, & it's supposed to continue through this week.

Crap news: Heavy peak rainfall is forecast for
    Tue, 05 Nov 2024.
