    Paranoid, Right-Wing, Watermelon-Smashing Maniac !?!
    I didn't know this !
Kinda old news I spose but...
Somehow he thought he was "better" than Carson, Letterman and Leno, deserved more money and fame. Boy I dunno about that. Smashing watermelons is funny once and not that funny because, there's really no surprise even the 1st time you see it.

Last time I was in Bremerton I was going to a Subvert/Poison Idea show at a meeting hall in a heavily wooded area at night. Around 1985-'87 or so.

    But he's dead.
    Back in November 2022

So, he's got nothin' to say.

There's quite a few celebs that are right-wing.
But my attitude is, do your day job. I'll enjoy their stuff. and ignore the political crap.
I really don't listen to any celeb for any side...unless their thing IS political humor.

And if I don't like it, I turn it off or walk out, no matter the topic or context.

I'd rather listen to the experts on politics.
    Most everything else is BS.

I'm not surprised, he always reminded me of one of the Never Invited Kids from back in junior high (middle) school. Which apparently is common with comedians when being funny is developed as a way to cope and find some form of acceptance.

I'm also not surprised at his bitterness. He always seemed to overrate himself, & his cork was in way too tight. I make no accusations, but some of his behavior suggests he might've been artificially wired.

Now I admit that I considered Gallagher to be above average at best. Some of his jokes were funny, but to me the smashing crap had little appeal.

Many entertainment stars have to deal with fading away. Just think of the number of bands that became extremely popular, but then regressed from playing stadiums, to arenas, to small clubs, to dives, to county fairs, to toll road openings, etc. It seems Gallagher didn't handle his fading well.

    With all that said...
the story is one person's opinion based on seeing one performance. And my thoughts are one person's opinion based on watching his appearances & interviews on TV.

Ya I knew he was dead...oh well...

My reaction to entertainers showing political colors is to loose any media I have.
I sold the Dollars trilogy for Clint Eastwood.
I keep Once upon a time in the West. It's better, longer and I know less of the stars in that film. This also prompted me to look deeper into spaghetti westerns and I found there were more cool ones to see. Like the Trinity series, "my name is nobody" Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer Italian westerns are pretty great.

Once you know it's hard to go back.
