Decided to give my laptop the dualboot option. The larger portion of the installed 750 GB HD is going to be given to linux as my only plans so far for the "fresh" win7 (as in default it shipped with, that I have to update..ugh) installation are mainly for the full Canon scanner software support and the fact that it plays things like Netflix instant streaming seamlessly. I will have the 1 TB external drive to use for both options, but do plan on booting into linux more often if not mainly. It is faster, easier to install software, and just looks prettier than Windows for whatever that is worth. On a semi-related note, no way in hell am I "upgrading" to Windows 8.

Dell certainly makes it easy to reinstall Win7 64 bit and all of the system drivers when you have all of the factory hardware. Not that most people are that likely to change many of the components in a laptop in this price range.
egads, have to open Internet Explorer that one time to download a real browser. As if I needed a reminder why Linux is going right back on the other partition. Having a slight debate whether to go with Linux Mint 13 or Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, but probably going with Ubuntu again. That "Unity" thing is a bit odd but I am actually getting used to it and it makes even more sense if I ever use more than one workspace on there.

Installed Ubuntu in nothing flat and enabled wireless network. Back to better where I was before, with the option of two freshly installed "new car smelling" operating systems that each their own strengths. Just a matter now of what is being installed on each respective side of the fence. I only have the antivirus and firewall on the windows system for now , looking forward more to playing with the Linux side tomorrow when I get home.

Ouch! I'm sorry. Passing a stone was the most painful thing I've ever endured. Splitting my knee open was nothing by comparison.

Had to contact Apple support to acquire a copy of Snow Leopard 10.6 so I can upgrade to Mountain Lion. I am a little behind on these type of things.

On another note, people at work are in love with 50 Shades of Grey and think Grey is this super amazing guy, which is weird because from the TFP thread created by Plan9 and Baraka, he seems like a total wanker. I might need to pick up a copy and read the poorly written piece of shit.

Honestly, I woudn't bother. My SO read part of that thing while she was here with me and she'd keep quoting to me the things that the Grey character says about business.

Hilarious shit. No luck in business! CEO of a billion-dollar company who needs to know every detail of every project. And the best: Late 20s guy who is so fiercely intelligent and ambitious that he built a billion-dollar holdings company from scratch. Holdings companies are very different from a random success story such as Zuckerberg's.

However, do buy it for the prupose of joining Niner and Baraka. :D

Have you talked to your doctor about this? I have kidney stones often as well, but I do my best to take preventative action. Especially since a year ago, I nearly died from kidney sepsis. Emergency surgeries all caused by stones? NOT. FUN. Never again.

Drink more water, find out what kinda stones your body produces, and follow a food diet to reduce stone formation. For example, I get calcium oxalate stones, so I avoid foods high in oxalates. I miss coffee so much :( And when I do drink it (rare!), follow it with two large glasses of water.

In other news, I need to rant something here, so I say it to no one I mean to say it to, and cause trouble:
"Fuck you. Seriously fuck you. How dare you open your mouth and spill out all that hate on me. I don't deserve it. You're an evil witch, and need to learn to not speak your mind ALL the fucking time. Yes, you have a right to your opinions, but no right to share it with me. You hurt me every fucking time. It's BAD when your own family hurts you like you hurt me. Fuck. You."
