I love it when that happens.

It's pretty rare for me to fall quickly asleep and snap out of it hours later.

I'm always pleasantly surprised after the initial shock wears off.

Sleep should always be like that.

    Sleep hard!

This calls for a hot toddy... though I am out of lemon, I will channel my inner Tim Gunn and Scarlett O'Hara...
I will "make it work" for "tomorrow is another day" in which I will buy lemons.

Okay, I'm deep into season 3 of MacGyver on Netflix.

Show has aged pretty well except for one thing:

His mullet is really, really starting to get to me.

I mean, it's the most ridiculous haircut ever.

He's not a secret agent; not with that hair.

I'm pretty sure that Plan9 has gotten douchier since he switched avatars.

But maybe its because I think that the avatars are just afraid of me making them just a little gayer when I look at them.

Hey, I'm an actor. I'm playing the part, man.

I know, right? I feel like I'm losing my identity. I haven't had the Crimson Ghost or Kurt Russell or anything remotely manly in over 72 hours now.

Probably because you've been so distracted by practicing all the variations of the Duck Face to find the right one to use while flexing.

As I commented in this meandering thread before, they also show nicely how Southern California can be any Eastern Bloc/Asian country/etc it needs to be.

My favourite of your recent avatars showed Kurt Russell with that epic beard he had in The Thing remake. The original is a classic but the 1982 version is superb in its own respect, still not sure I want to try to watch the newer take on that story.

Many episodes were filmed in Canada, or so I've learned from watching the closing credits.

My hot toddy has a vague aftertaste of macaroni and cheese. How the fuck did that happen?

That would not surprise me. It was probably easier to find the larger expanses of open land up there, especially on those particularly good episodes (three off the top of my head, could be wrong) that use the dream sequence method to show the cast in the old west settings playing the same recurring characters.

Yeah, I'm enough of a nerd / Misfits fan to realize that The Thing '82 was a remake. I'm also enough of a fanboy to realize that nobody is going to top Carpenter's masterpiece. 30 years later that movie still kicks ass. Special effects have aged but are still really impressive. The actors were all perfect for it. And nobody has a hero beard like R.J. MacReady. The coming "prequel" will probably be a huge disappointment but I'll probably go see it anyway.

Wearing body armor w/ hard plates, of course.

    Hey-oh!

I love the Middle East. They casually insult you in professional environments, but their spirit is so easily broken it's hilarious.
