Oh so many....the first few to come to mind: John Astin. That's John, not Sean. Gomez Addams to Buddy, his recurring role on Night Court. Matthew Perry, for throwing his entire body into his comedy, his facial expressions, and some of his vocal expressions as well. Hank Azaria is a total metamorph; he can become entirely any character he plays, and I don't think I've ever heard him use the same voice twice.

I'm sure I'll come up with more as I continue to think about it.

  2. As a comedian you have to consistantly make me laugh so hard that Im in tears. So for me its always been Eddie Murphy. I grew up watching RAW (looking back I dont know what mom was thinking) and Beverly Hills Cop. Second would be Dave Chappelle. Jim Carrey is next and last would be Carlos Mencia when he first came out.

Hearing him play multiple characters on The Goon Show is even better than his film work. The BBC junking some of those recordings from their archives to make room for Television show recordings was f'ing criminal, not that NBC and other networks in the States are any less guilty when it comes to some stellar radio shows tossed from the same years for the same reason.

What about Chevy Chase? I remember the national lampoons series had me doubled over. Not so much his latest work though.

Will Ferrell, Jim Carrey Hugh Laury, Monty Python.

    Hilarious!

I think everyone's been mentioned. Of course I say that and someone will pop out a name and I'll think "oh, yeah."

For me really any stand up by George Carlin, Richard Pryor or John Cleese will top my list. Bill Cosby and Bob Newhart could keep my laughing for hours as a kid.

For film the list is so long. Eddie Murphy, John Candy, Steve Martin, John Belushi, any Monty Python film or short.

Old school stuff like Abbott and Costello. I learned "Who's one First" at an early age and could repeat it until my dad started cleaning his gun. He never heard me do "the seven words you can't say on TV." Had he he might not have stopped at cleaning the gun.

Monty Python was pretty damn funny!

Also liked "Ed Grimly" aka Martin Short.
