Since I shut this motha down, and Tricki Nicki Haley has come up here already a few pages back, here's the lastest on her situation. Probably not going to get the nod as VP any time soon.

Something from the GOP's "favorite" Nobel Prize winning economist. (/sarcasm)
Question is this, Is Obama going to finally highlight what he believes is the GOP and Romney's short-comings?
So far, he's been fairly soft on this, not shouting it or drilling it into the ground...and allowing the GOP to set the tone with their constant barage.

While Obama is doing fund raisers and such...there hasn't been that much "out there" to address the back & forth on his opponent.

Now while nothing is formalized until the conventions...I would think you don't want to let your opposition gain the momentum on tone & message.
Is Obama being foolish waiting for the formal time? The news cycles don't care...they want meat daily.
Is he distracted by work...God knows how many different national & global crisises that need to be negotiated.
Has he been finally worn down by "All of the above", even 4 years of raw politics can take its toll on anyone. (politicians are quiting left & right)

Right now, the news cycle is describing the blows of a fight, giving the past week's round to Romney.
Of course, they could turn right around in a split-second, if Obama gives them something more interesting.
That's the problem of the media these days...they aren't arbitrary informers, but more like Sport Announcers trying to keep interest and audience.

It's like the lead up to a World Title boxing match.
Question is...who's Rocky and who's Apollo Creed?

While there's a bit of back & forth going on now,
I don't think things are truly going to get started until the National Conventions. (the VPs are locked down, policy, politics and such...)

But this is something to chew on for now...

One less chance for political theater at the Republican convention has been crushed.

Ron Paul wont be officially nominated at the convention, despite the best efforts of the Paulists to manipulate the results of the state caucuses/state conventions. Having come in second or third in several non-binding caucuses, his supporters were able to flood the state conventions and "steal" (?) delegates and in effect, win four states.

Republican party rules require winning five states in order to have official nomination speeches at the convention.

I was kind of hoping he'd get a nom. speech. Between him and Johnson they could still get enough swing state votes to hand it to Obama.

It's amazing how conservo-liberal libertarianism has more political power in the U.S. than socialism.

Well, it shouldn't be much of a surprise, actually. It just seems that way because of the large number of Americans who think that the country is turing socialist.

More headaches for Romney..... the Tea Party is "livid" that he hasnt invited Sarah Palin to speak at the convention.

The female Ronald Reagan of our time? Yep....that's what Romney needs at the convention.

Or at least someone to remind the delegates how Reagan raised taxes numerous times, bailed out the S&Ls, signed international environmental treaties, signed an immigration reform bill that allowed 3+ million illegal immigrants to stay in the country, compromised on Social Security reform and raised the civilian federal workforce to the largest in history.

Nary a mention of the Reagan deficits? What are you some kind of apologist or something?

It appears now that Ron Paul may have the plurality needed in five states in order to have his name placed in nomination. It hinges on NV where Romney won the caucus but Paul has a majority of delegates at the national convention as a result of their take-over of the state convention.

If the RNC allows it, they may be able to serve as the fifth state for a Paul nomination, so they can nominate Paul (and he gest 15 minutes to speak), but they would still be required to vote for Romney on the first ballot....unless a successful Paul-backers lawsuit voids the state (not RNC) requirement on first ballot voting.

Either way, the 100,000 supporters the Paul crowd is suggesting will be at the convention (but not in the convention hall) is not an image the Romney folks want to seen on TV.

Nor is the spectacle of Donald Trump showing up, given that he will be in the neighborhood to receive a "Statesmen of the Year" award from the Sarasota, FL republican party.

The circus is coming to Tampa!

Have they determined if Sarah will speak at the convention yet? It is not the best position to be in if Romney is trying to get the more moderate voter, yet still get the far right to the polls.

From what I heard, they have not invited her.
At least that what one article I read said.

However, I also read another...saying that George W. Bush has declined their invite.
Wanting to stay out of the political limelight.

    hmm, interesting the contrast there...

Meanwhile the GOP is eating their own...slamming Michelle Bachmann...Boehner saying that what she's saying is "pretty dangerous".
Geez, and they had her willingly up there just some months ago as a "viable" candidate for Prez.

Or even many Republicans calling on Romney to release his taxes more.

Usually, they're in lock-step...but at the moment, there seems to be a dysfunctionality.
And the Dems seem unusually on "one view" at the same time.

What is it? Opposite Day??

I'm convinced there's a significant number of GOP member who are fed up with the tea baggers and have reached a point where they're willing to lose this election and focus on 2016. Problem is they might lose the WH and the baggers might gain seats in congress. Which will mean four more years of "I know you are but what am I" politics. The only bright spot I see is Obama will have no reason to play nice and I think he's learned the GOP has no interest in working with him.

    Speaking of the Tea Party.

The head of the Tea Party Nation is demanding that if Romney was going to be forced to release his tax returns then Obama should release medical records to prove that he doesnt smoke crack and never had gay sex.

This is the same guy who said that restricting voting to only property owners makes a a lot of sense.

uhh...how do you measure if you've had gay sex???
There may be a test, but I don't think that's really par for normal doctor visits....unless Obama has a REALLY thorough doctor...

Is it me? Or does a significant portion of the population seem crazy?
Or is it because they are SO raging angry that Obama is in power, it's making them literally crazy.

Unfortunately crazy & stupid can still vote.
