Pointless Announcements

Isn't it usually the other way around? We're typically on fire, and shit's always sinking and sliding out west.

 

Those fires back in 97' or so (forget the exact year, been awhile) were bad. I drove south from Jacksonville and could hardly see 20 feet in front of me by Deltona if memory serves.

 

1999. I was in the middle of them in Eustis. The water coming out of the showerheads smelled like smoke.
Still can't tolerate the smell of peat burning.

Ugh. I seem to have misplaced the adapter for my turntable to play 45 LPs. Not even sure where to look for that right now.
Not that it is essential but I would prefer to use it.

 

I was all set to do laundry, then discovered we're out of detergent. Off to the store.

 

I scanned the 8 track in years ago, just made this fresh take on this idea tonight.

Whoa! I didn't see the name at first and thought that was Ricky Nelson.

 

original scan was a Gene Autry album. The new album cover I chose for this has a decent picture but that lens flare thing in the corner looks completely ridiculous to me. Might sound almost tolerable but I have no intention of finding out.

 

Got an ego boost this morning, a call from a "headhunter" that wants to meet and discuss my career.

 

Converted a Cisco wireless access point and client adapter to use WPA2 encryption and then figured out how to get an ipad/iphone to get emails from the exchange server, but there might be a security issue on that so I need to do more research.

 

Friends lost the Man Cave to flooding.

 

My "non-verbal" daughter says more in her own fashion than the children that use actual words.

 

I need to catch fire with this project...

 

More sad than you may know... four leather recliners, a handcrafted wooden bar, kegerator, awesome stereo equipment, big-ass television... and in the half-finished garage, a treadmill, one of those awesome elliptical treadmill thingies with the alternating surfaces, a shit-ton of tools... They've only been in the house a few months.

There's something to be said for heeding the warnings of the weathermen and listening to your friends who said, "hey man, let's go grab some sandbags from the firestation a quarter-mile down the road... they're free. You know, 'just in case'."

 

Hopefully they have insurance.
