I can never remember if this is beer or wine. I always guess it's beer (but I really should remember). I think it's because the name makes me think of Riesling. That, and I don't think I've ever noticed it for sale here. It might be because I haven't sought it out at the beer store. However, I don't recall ever seeing it available in bars here.

It's beer from the oldest brewery in the US. It's only sold in the east, but I brought a bunch home from FL last month. I only have a few left.

I just checked with the liquor and brewers' retailers in Ontario (the largest purchaser of booze in the world the last time I checked), and they don't seem to carry it. I wonder if that huge beer garden downtown has it.

Should I go on an adventure this summer?

It's distribution is pretty limited, so that doesn't surprise me.

    And of course you should.

Contrada di San Felice 2010. It's a blend of Merlot, Sangiovese, and Cabernet Sauvignon from Tuscany. Yummy.

There's somewhat of a chance it will be here: Bier Markt

  15. Not right now, but yesterday my niece bought a six pack of Detroit Special Export just for me. We were having a large family gathering, and she wouldn't let anyone else touch them. Also, she wouldn't let me leave until they were all consumed. I liked them, but they surely hated me this morning. No hangover, but other, um, "side effects.". (if you know what I mean) :(

Just finished off a diet coke with a shot of single malt whisky in it.

Next week I am off on Pilgrimage with the church for a week, know I will be in 'social drinking' environments, and am experimenting with low calorie alcoholic thirst-quencher to replace my beloved beer.

Whilst I feel I have committed sacrilege, I must acknowledge that the taste -'emptiness' of the coke makes space for the smokiness of the malt to impose its will with the sneakiness of a submission specialist developing an arm-bar from full guard. At least, that's what I tell myself to soften the guilt.
