Recently finished full series of Bones and Scrubs. Working through Star Trek Enterprise; DS9 is in queue. I'm also working through Avatar (the Last Airbender) and have Alfred Hitchcock Presents in queue.

 

Watching Rounders now.

 

I'm trying to finish Heroes right now. Just a few more episodes to go.

 

Bones is awesome, I adore that show. My daughter got me into watching Avatar (the Last Airbender) with her, not bad but I didn't care much for the movie.

 

Rare Exports. Fucking awesome Finnish movie about how Santa is actually a sort of demonic god. Not a horror movie at all, just wonderful.

 

Way to stick with it. At least the last season got better than the previous three.

 

Just watched it. Definitely a new experience. Two thumbs up.

 

Really? I felt the last 2 seasons were lacking compared to the rest.

 

Don't get me wrong. Compared to the first two, the last season was still schlock. But I thought it at least tried to get the old magic back. Focused on a nucleus of main characters rather than spinning off into so many story arcs that it couldn't even keep up with itself, they were able to maintain a more cohesive narrative. It tried to get back to seeing the characters as people who happened to have superpowers instead of superpowered entities that looked and talked like humans. I enjoyed the addition of Madeline Zima to the cast, at least part-time. And I liked the subculture of the Carnival. Still, by the end, I wasn't all that broken-hearted when it ended.

 

Watched the pilot last year I think it was and never did get back to it. The same for that Lost show. Some kind of dinosaur sounding thing roared in the jungle and I never did watch more to see what it was.

 

Apparently, Thor is now on Netflix instant. I'm watching it now.

To me, Heroes suffered from the same thing all great TV shows do now. They take an idea that would have made a great series for one or maybe two seasons and try and stretch it to four or five. Writers end up having to shoehorn in new story lines that have nothing to do with the main theme and were never fleshed out because of time constraints. They end up writing in circles just to try and tie the whole thing together.

Heroes would have been much better served to tie up the main story line in the first season and then start over in the second season with all new characters and situations.

 

Watched it last night with the Rifftrax audio file. I still did not care much for it overall but it was amusing.

I watched that the other day on Netflix and had some wonderful daydreams about Thor and his hammer. ;-)

Captain America is DVD only, and it should be coming to me in the mail on Saturday. I'm preparing myself to watch the Avengers, so I'll probably rewatch Iron Man. I think they're both on Netflix Streaming.

Mmmmmm.....Thor.

 

Saw those on the "new to Netflix streaming" twitter feed. Looked interesting. Put the first one in my queue.

 

Coupling is good if you like comedy. It's a British show similar to Friends, except it's... y'know... funny.

No offense to Friends fans. Different strokes and all that.

Seeking Justice: A not terrible Nick Cage movie. Light action/conspiracy.

The Frankenstein Theory: Independent docu/horror flick. Not bad, not great.

The Grey : Did not enjoy, even with Liam Neeson...

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol : Better than the previous Mission Impossible, but still not very good.
