    WOW !!! SUPER COOL !!!!!!

Do you live in a sandy environment? I sort of see some green plants growing in the background....

It is super cool ain't it? :). Maybe with some practice you can actually have a decent paint job.

Maybe with some practice I can actually hit a man sized target at 7 yards !

Yes, with some practice maybe you can be almost as good as me. 7 yards? Tsk.

Thanks! It blends decently well with tree trunks and dead vegetation. But ChrisJericho's right insofar as the camo does not aggressively break up the outline of the weapon.

Holy shit, you didn't say that thing was covered in micro Alpenflage.

Considering the previously-discussed intended use of this particular weapon, I'm surprised KirStang didn't spray paint it with a can of "cloth bucket seat" gray and finish it with some seat belt and plastic trim texture. The Para FAL is way cool, but too much gun for 90% of realistic situations. I'd rather have a 14.5" AR with those magic heavy pills, myself. I'm starting to be brainwashed by the "compact 5.56mm AR solves all problems" crowd.

The "Hey, look at my Ess Eff camo!" desert paint scheme is so '06. Ever since Big Army started to allow some regular units (i.e. cav douches) to paint their blasters, it's been another nearly universal "I'ma tool bag" signal. I look to the future where we're going to dazzle camo our guns like Africans.

Just kidding. Paint that shit however you want. As long as it isn't a lemon and you shoot it well, everybody else can eat a dick.

TL;DR: Cool setup, KirStang. I'd carry it. And ChrisJericho is trolling you... he shoots better than both of us.

Looks good. How did you go about removing the original paint jerb?

His tongue, obviously. Honed it at law school.

    ...

Am I the only guy on the planet that hates the twisty knob on CCOs? Fuck that thing. Always catches on gear, breaks off from garrison handling, etc.

All of my M68's and EOTechs always came with ARMS mounts. You know how I know your S4 neglects the balls?

Thanks. Purple Power Bath. Soaked it for 24 hours and used steel wool to take off the paint. A little worried, since that stuff has the potential to corrode aluminum. Safe on plastics, and steel, though.

It works well as a degreaser, too.

Excellent. Thanks for the tip. I have a custom 700 that needs to be cleaned up before it goes on the market - years ago, a friend who worked at a local gun shop was trying to establish a custom finishing service. He hooked me up with a McM A5 stock on the condition that he could throw an ACU pattern on the assembled rifle and snap a few promotional pictures. (CSB)

Secured a size Large TC2002 for my noggin, so I could wear electronic ear-pro underneath my dome of discipline. I'm gonna end up sticking an ACU cloth cover over it, but I took the liberty of painting the bad boy.

    Arrived with a high-speed Multi-cam cloth-cover. Replete with hook & loop!

    Adding some underlying base textures.

    Finished product.

The previous owner drilled a god damn hole through the helmet for the NVG mount. I sealed it with nail-polish (and then all that krylon you see), but I was wondering if anyone else has any other tips. I plan on using some silicone sealant too when I get the chance. I don't want water getting in between the layers of kevlar and delaminating it.

I see you've been bitten by the suppressor bug as well. I've been looking into getting one for my daniel defense and the local class 3 dealer suggests I go with a silencerco saker or M4-2000. From what I gather there isn't much difference in terms of decibel reduction between most 5.56 cans and it's mostly the attachment method that's the main difference. I can't tell what model you have on the SCAR.

That party-pooper Plan9 is trying to convicne me though I should spend the money on body armor. But the good guys never get shot so where's the fun in that?
