    Old-school ventriloquist dummies. Jeff Dunham's gang and the like are fine; some of them are funny as hell. But the older-style ones....forget it. When I see Cesar and Me under The Twilight Zone on the DVR, I immediately and with great conviction delete it, post-haste.

    I just found out today that a good friend and colleague died over the weekend from sudden onset cancer--lymphoma. He had just retired. He had delayed retiring for several years-- retired at 68 in good health and then bang, he is dead. That creeps me out. Life is too short. I feel badly for him as he worked hard and was looking forward to some fun and then it is over. I don't want things to end that way for me. I want to enjoy life and all of the good things in it, before it is too late.
