Yes, the owner of the house had played the "friend card" for the last time about a month ago. Wants the rent early, expects I fix and repair all problems free including buying material. Plus the beach is more hassle( sand. Loud parties all night) then its worth. The burglary and landlords comments are just the final straw.

I will there's a ton down here. You'd be floored to see what $4-500 a month will get you. I think I might pony up big and get a gated community this go around. Property crimes are just getting crazy here. When/if it turns violent I'll be headed north again. But for now I'm staying put. For around 650 a month I can get brand new, gated, furnished, 3/3 and with nice pool. No beach but the beach here has really tanked with trash and drunks. I can get a good beach but it's another 40 minutes from Merida and I just find myself in Merida a lot anymore.

 

I graduated high school 18 years ago tomorrow. Ugh.

Sitting in an airport waiting to go back to Oregon. I wasn't feeling too good about this and was on the verge of tears when my brother left me. I feel better now after having gotten a text from my friend W saying she missed me and can't wait to see me tonight.
