    So I had dinner with this Dutch guy today.

    First, dinners are supposed to take 1-2.5 hours. Ours took 5.

    Second, I order my favorite pizza at the Italian place. He orders there for the first time and it turns out his pizza was much better than mine. Fucking A.

    Third, I drink Danish beer to be all buddy-buddy with the Dutch guy (Dutch and Danes love each other like Plan9 and KirStang do). Motherfucker goes and drinks Gin & Tonic only.

    Fourth, after selecting my drink wrong (not a bad choice, though) I decided to at least beat him in number of drinks. I failed.

    Fifth, tonight was a hell-of-a-lot of fun. Really good to get some unexpected off-time in the middle of all this crap stress. Dutch guy was great fun and I died at his Amsterdam stories. Crazy town.

    Get the story straight: He moved away. We spent a lot of weekends together. Team-building camps. Hikes in the woods.

    But, sadly, he put his career and his material desires ahead of my needs for companionship and bad '80s action movies.

    He's driving a Mercedes and working at some fancy law firm where he probably gets to oppress racial minorities for $100k.

    I work at the Target checkout. I've put on a few pounds but I'm sure I'll eventually get back out there. Find someone new.
