Very auspicious, master Borla. If things go awry, I promise I will try to spare you.

Though I can't promise this will include the planet Earth.

    Just don't forget your towel.

My wife and I have been discussing taking a super-cool exciting (for us) vacation next year for our 15th anniversary. I have a buttload (that's an official term btw) of hotel points from my various travels and I've been accumulating Virgin Atlantic airline points on my AmEx. So we've been dreaming up where that could take us and discussing potential destinations. Though we've been to Europe once years ago, our typical vacations have been long weekends in various major cities of the US, or week long jaunts to the beach in FL. So we are trying to think beyond that for next year. If we took an all-inclusive trip to the Carribean, like at Sandals, I have enough hotel points that we'd only have to pay for airfare, everything else would be covered. On the other hand, I'll have enough Virgin Atlantic points for two First Class tickets to Europe, and the hotel would be free through my hotel points. One of the perks of First Class Virgin Atlantic tickets (not that I've ever paid to fly first class, lol) is that you get a free limo to and from the airport at each end, up to 75 miles. She asked me if that meant when we landed in London that the limo could drive us to Ireland. *facepalm*

I promise she was smart when I married her. :p

Finally, it's Friday. This week has seemed super long.

My interview for graduate school is all scheduled and ready to go. I'm excited, even if I have to fill out a bunch of paperwork before I go. :)

  10. My underwire is KILLING me. Must go bra shopping, but I'd rather buy hippie or feminist onesies for my squishy little ZombieNiece. She has uptight parents on her mom's side. My brother thinks it's HILARIOUS when I get her stuff that "challenges" their suburbia mindset.

My wife is so frustrated by me right now. As anyone who reads the Food forum can probably guess, I pretty much eat and drink what I want. And I like red meat and good drinks/wine. I'm not grossly obese or anything, but I carry more weight than I should because of this. I had to go this AM for some blood work for a general physical I'm having on Monday. I'm almost 34 and I've not had a physical since I was a teenager. With my diet, and the fact that I don't exercise as much as I should, I expected to have to at least make some minor adjustments. Since my wife works at a doctor's office she had the results sent there. She just called me with the results. All three cholesterol levels are right in the "normal" range. There was some other test they did that looks at 16 or so other things in your blood, I assume to make sure your kidneys and liver are ok and you have proper nutrient levels in your blood. Everything was dead-nuts in the normal range. She is so ticked. :p

  14. Good for you. Keep getting physicals every year even though all looks good. Everything for me looked good too but I still ended up with 80% blockage in my right carotid. Shit happens, but if you catch it soon enough it can turn out OK.

Or you can be like my mother, with shitty numbers (high cholesterol, high BP, on drugs for both) but perfectly clear arteries. Bizarre but true.

This evening includes dining at a vegan eatery, playing a Game of Thrones tabletop game, and drinking one or two too many alcoholic beverages.

    That sounds awesome.

I have to take it easy tonight because tomorrow I need to be at full capacity for a protest followed by heavy drinking.

Gnarly. I'm in except for the tabletop game. Pretty sure I'd get my ass kicked. Why can't we get sloshed and play Time Crisis at the arcade?

You have no idea how much that would please me, no idea how vividly that memory would be carried to my grave.

Totally what I did with the old lady for NYE in Myrtle Beach.

Got sloshed at an arcade bar and played some shooty games.

Notice the mad dog killer shooting posture and tacky watch.
