Stranger in a Strange Land was my first Heinlein book! I'm overdue to read more. Thanks for the list! Any suggestions, grumpyolddude? (I have re-read Stranger in a Strange Land, twice, I think.

Was dreading today's meeting. Rightly so because it was canceled due to messed up data sets. New System. New Lead. I should have known it would happen.

Oh well, I got 4 hours back (yes 4) so I can catch up on some other crap. I guess I'll just make my stuff look more awesome. Wait....that may result in the meeting to be rescheduled again because the other data will look awful in comparison. I'll just look at cats on the internet.

 

Just back from a couple weeks of diving and fun. Been home for 18 hrs. already bored. I need to do something meaningful. Tomorrow I'm going to go see a guy about volunteering at a local school.

 

Did someone tell you to wash your p*&&#y? I don't think this is what they meant.

I make some popcorn in the hot air popper and give my wee girls each a bowlful. The almost 4 year walks up to me oh so sweetly, takes the large container and hands me her much smaller bowl. Not long after that she takes the small bowl, dumps it in the large container and hands it back it to me.
I feel so loved.

 

As much as I love mowing the grass, I'd really rather have a wild meadow than a manicured lawn. I sort of feel like an orc, tearing through nature to make room for technology and my own comfort.

 

I was going to as what an Orc is....but felt that people on this forum would be mean to me. I'm sure it's a Game of Star Wars Vulcan-Hobbit in a Dungeon with Dragons thing.
